Rotary machines; stencils and stencilling; printing-surfaces.-In duplicating apparatus comprising a printing-cylinder c provided with two rows of unequally-spaced pins for attaching a correspondingly perforated printing-sheet a, the spacing of the pins in one row is the reverse of that in the other row whereby the sheet cannot be attached with the wrong side out but may be changed end for end. As shown, one row of pins b is fixed, and the other d is mounted on a roller f acting, under the influence of a coil spring g, to stretch the sheet over the cylinder c. The pins b, d and the perforations h may be spaced as shown in Fig. 3, the distance between consecutive pins increasing uniformly. For different constructions of apparatus, the spacing may be varied to prevent the use of unsuitable sheets in any particular machine.
