Capsules and like closures.-A closure for bottles and other receptacles comprises a paper or like disc a seated in an annular recess c in the neck of the bottle and surmounted by a cover b connected thereto adhesively or otherwise and formed with a depending flange b<1> which encloses the bottle mouth of the bottle, the centre b<2> of the cover being sunk to a depth approximating to the distance between the annular recess and the top of the bottle. The flange b<1> may be corrugated or crimped to fit the bottle neck closely. The disc a may have a weakened part to facilitate its removal by the finger.
