Abstract

321,760. Horner, G. W., and Sharp, J. E. Sept. 11, 1928. Capsules and like closures; screw stoppers.-A closure-cap 1 of cup-like form having an annular flange 4 which engages in a continuous sealing-band 5 shouldered at 6, is placed over a screw-threaded &c. bottle-neck, and both band and cap are spun into engagement with the bottle neck as shown in Fig. 2. The upper portion of the sealing band overlaps the cap sufficiently to be distorted into threaded formation. A cork &c. sealing disc 2 is provided in the top of the cap. The cap may be used for re-closing the bottle after the sealing-band is removed. A tearing tab 7 may be provided on the band. Specification 234,352, [Class 125 (ii), Bottles &c., Filling &c.], is referred to.
