Abstract
166,143. Piana, V. July 10, 1920, [Convention date]. Regulating or controlling.-A centrifugal pump, used particularly for operating dyeing baths, has two chambers 1, 2 communicating with each other by a central space 5 with two outlet apertures. The shaft 9 carries an impeller 8 which can be moved axially by the hand-lever 11. When the impeller works in the chamber 1, liquid is drawn in through the opening 4 of the chamber 2 and is discharged from the outlet 3. When the impeller works in the chamber 2 liquid is drawn in through the opening 3 and discharged from the opening 4. To empty the apparatus, the impeller is moved into the central chamber 5 and the fluid is pumped out of one of the outlets from that chamber.
