Abstract
343,385. Centrifugal pumps. WEYLAND, G., Frankenthal, Bavaria, Germany. April 17, 1930, No. 12161. Convention date, April 23, 1929. [Class 110 (i).] A multi-stage pump has an inlet 1, a delivery pipe 2, and an annular chamber 4 with an inlet 3 by which an additional liquid, such as hot water, is admitted to an intermediate stage of the pump. The inner wall of the chamber 4 has nozzle-shaped openings 6 through which the additional liquid passes into the pump stream in the same direction as the flow. The pumped liquid and the additional liquid are mixed in the chamber 7 of the guide apparatus 5 and the mixture passes on to the next impeller. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the inner wall of the passage 4 is cast in one piece with the casing wall of the intermediate stage. In the form shown in Fig. 3 the inner wall of the chamber 4 forms the outer wall of the guide apparatus 5.
