Abstract

271,749. Croad, A. K., (Cowles Engineering Corporation). Nov. 27, 1926. Pumping-machines.-A centrifugal pump 6 is enclosed in a casing 18, 15 which also encases the motor 2 and has a large number of liquid intake openings 20 and a single discharge opening 21. The upper part 15 of the casing encloses the motor and is provided with ventilation holes 15<1>. Current for the motor is led in by condnctors 22 and a switch, and a handle 16 is attached for carrying the complete apparatus. The pump impeller is arranged near the bottom of the casing part 18 and is enclosed by two casing parts 7, 8 the upper 7 of which completely closes the passage of the casing 18. The pump discharges through a channel 11 to the opening 21 in the casing 18. Inlet openings 20 are made in the casing 18 and these permit the fluid to reach the suction inlet 10 of the pump. A clip 25 is attached to the casing by a set screw 27 so that the apparatus may be clipped to the tank. The apparatus is used for washing or dyeing or any other process where agitation of the liquid is desired.
