Abstract

1,113,404. Rolling mills. SCHWERMASCHINENBAU ERNST THALMANN VEB. 17 Jan., 1966, No. 2108/66. Heading B3M. Each of the horizontal rolls 25, 28, Fig. 1, and the vertical rolls 26, 27 of a rolling mill are driven through gear mechanisms 17-20, and a clutch, a single motor I driving all of the mechanisms 17-20. Motor 1 drives a shaft 3, Fig. 3, having bevel gears 4, 5 and a spur gear 6 mounted thereon, and the gear mechanism 17-20 are driven from shaft 3 through clutches 13-16. The output shafts of the gear mechanisms drive the rolls 25-28, Fig. 1, through clutches 21-24, which clutches permit radial displacements of the rolls.
