Abstract

The plug is esp. for slide-type valves, having a bore forming a seat in a body, and in which a throttle-piece with shoulder slides to open and shut. A piece forms a mounting for an elastic sealing ring acting as the seat of shoulder. The shoulder or seat has a supporting surface for the ring, which is held on the mounting in the axial direction by a radial face opposite the supporting surface and in the diametral direction by an annular flange whose diameter is that of the ring in the undistorted state. The plug has a leak passage whose cross-section is altered by distortion of the ring on shutting. This passage (19) is so arranged that the annular flange (18) holding the ring (15) is at the inner periphery of the latter.
