  • the articulated connection may comprise a notch or ratchet joint, so as to allow a plurality of locked positions.
  • the flexible attachment portion may extend from one or more sides of the suitcase.
  • the portion may extend from both long sides so as to meet above the center of the rear face.
  • the portion may include four separate portions meeting above the rear face, so as to provide a more efficient means of holding objects on the rear face without loss.
  • the flexible attachment portion may include a single portion, which is configured to extend from one side of the case, pass over an object, and clip into a clip on the opposite side.
  • the sides of the suitcase may thus differ, or in some embodiments, the part may comprise two portions which may be spaced apart and/or inverted in formation, passing over the rear face when in use to clip together.
  • the clips or other portions may be latched or lockable so as to lock the portion when the portion is extended on the rear face.
  • the portion may be configured to extend over a spool mechanism.
  • the part may comprise an elastomeric material.
  • embodiments of the cases of the present invention may differ from each other in configuration and/or dimension so as to form a modular system of multiple cases and complementary devices sharing some or all of their characteristics, as long as they meet the characteristics of claim 1.
  • an apparatus for luggage generally comprising: a suitcase 99 with substantially rigid sides 7, 8, 17, 77 and two substantially rigid faces 1, 10, in which the sides comprise a fixing part extensible flexible 6 to secure objects on side 1; and in which the suitcase comprises wheels 21 which project with reference to the face 10 and wheels 3 which project with reference to the side 17, and a handle 2 with an articulated base 12, such that the suitcase 99 is configured to allow a user to pull the suitcase on the wheels 3, 21 in more than one orientation.
  • the base includes an articulated connection 12 between the suitcase 99 and the handle 2.
  • an embodiment comprising a suitcase with rigid faces and sides 99 with rounded and reinforced corners 71.
  • the embodiment is formed in a thermoplastic or polymer material such as acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS).
  • ABS acrylonitrile butadiene styrene
  • the embodiment comprises a metal handle 2, with a powder coating, folding coaxially, and having a grip element 15 orthogonal to two elongated and telescopic elements 13, 14.
  • the sides are continuous around the rounded corners, and act to separate the two parallel faces 1, 10, comprising a front face 10 and a rear face 1.
  • Both sides are wavy, with raised and hollow parts.
  • the faces are corrugated correspondingly and equally with respective portions of hollow tracks and raised rib 11 such that the rear face of one case fits with the front face of another case and vice versa.
  • the so-called “additional” suitcases 100 mounted on a so-called “trolley” suitcase 99 may be identical.
  • the so-called “trolley” suitcase 99 can be assembled with additional suitcases 100 of smaller sizes while guaranteeing the stability of the assembly.
  • said additional suitcases 100 can be of intermediate size for the first suitcase placed on the trolley case 99, and of small size for the suitcase placed on the suitcase of intermediate size.
  • the assembly formed by the suitcases thus described allows optimized storage, the suitcases being able to be stored one inside the other so that the spatial bulk only represents the volume of the trolley case.
  • the rear face also includes the articulated connection of the handle 2 and a location for storing the handle 2 when not in use.
  • the hinged connection includes two hinged pivot bases 12 located at the proximal ends of the elongated handle members 13, distal to the grip member 15.
  • the storage location includes a U-shaped indentation 18 extending from the articulated swivel bases 12.
  • the rear face 1 further comprises raised and hollow surfaces 11, which correspond with the opposite front face 10, and in particular the wheels 3, so as to allow the assembly and nesting of the faces, thus allowing efficient stacking suitcases with minimal bulk, also ensuring that suitcases are less likely to move when stacked. Additionally or alternatively, interlocking also limits movement at the end.
  • the wheels 21 projecting with reference to a face 10 are recessed according to dimensions chosen so as to guarantee the stability of an interlocking between the corrugated faces having raised and hollow parts, while guaranteeing a sufficient height to allow adequate rolling in a horizontal orientation, without friction of said face 10 on the ground.
  • the handle extends from a proximal or upper side, at an angle allowing the user to pull the suitcase in their preferred orientation, namely with the handle 2 at an obtuse angle to the rear face 1 when the front face 10 is in contact with the ground, and largely coaxial with the rear face 1 when the lower face 17 is in contact with the ground.
  • the swivel wheels 3 on the lower side 17 mean that the suitcase can be manufactured similarly to a conventional suitcase.
  • the front face 10 includes four small wheels 21 spaced in two sets of parallel wheels located near the ends.
  • Smaller wheels 21 on front face 10 also facilitate manufacturing because they can be inserted into a hard shell bottom cover or front face. These are also more discreet compared to disc wheels.
  • Handle 2 is integrated into rear face 1. This allows it to both articulate and slide for greater length. Handle 2 stays in position with a friction fit.
  • the user can turn handle 2 then press a button located inside the handle to extend it.
  • multiple devices 100 are configured to be stacked on top of each other and on the case 99 of the present invention so as to form a second aspect of the present invention.
  • the opposite faces 1, 10 of the devices are configured in the same way as for the suitcase and fit into each other thanks to the raised ribs and hollow tracks 11, 20.
  • the device is configured to stacking more than one suitcase and other devices or objects in which the opposing faces 1,10 of the suitcase are configured to nest together using a raised rib and track portions hollows 11, 20.
  • a retractable strap 61 of the extensible part 6 with a male buckle clip 23 which extends from a central articulated handle 9 on a long side 77 of the mode of realization and which clips into a female loop clip 16 on the opposite side 8 of the suitcase in order to secure the suitcases together.
  • part 6 can engage with the handles of other suitcases.
  • the fixing means 6 thus comprises a nylon canvas strap (RTM) 61 with a thermoplastic buckle 23 at its end, in which the strap 61 extends from a reel 24 through a slot 22 in the side 77 of the suitcase, extends over the rear side 1 of the suitcase, and all objects placed on the rear side, and clips into the buckle clip 16 on the other side 8 of the suitcase.
  • RTM nylon canvas strap
  • the long sides of the suitcase 8, 77 include central articulated handles 9.
