Definitions
- the invention relates to a projectile having a front core and a rear core, wherein the outer shape of the projectile, viewed from the projectile nose, is formed in ogiver form, merges into a cylindrical central region and ends in a conical rear region, wherein the rear core form-fitting centered on the front core is present and wherein this rear-side core fills the entire cylindrical and the truncated cone shaped rear portion of the projectile.
- Such a projectile is as a coat bullet from the WO 99/10703 known, with two-part projectiles for more than 60 years, for example GB 601 686 , are known.
- the centric positive fit of the rear core to the front core allows one after the WO 99/10703 designed missile to provide good aerodynamic, ballistic and, above all, penetration characteristics for sniper missions.
- From the DE 100 05 412 is a practice floor known, which has a reduced range. It consists of a projectile nose, which is connected via predetermined breaking points with a tail core. When shooting the projectile breaks through the inertia of the projectile nose the bullet, so that only a reduced flying distance is achieved.
- the US 6,263,798 describes a projectile which is generated at elevated temperature but below the sintering temperature, so that it decomposes directly and completely in powder form during the impact. This document indicates that this method is also suitable for the production of lead-free practice ammunition.
- the present invention seeks to provide a bullet, which is cheaper than exercise ammunition and also lead-free manufacture.
- a further object is to improve the ricochet behavior in the event of a non-frontal impact of the projectile designed as a training ammunition, that is to say to exclude the danger to third parties by rebounds and onward flight of the projectile more securely.
- the single figure shows a two-part projectile 10, which is designed here without a coat. It has a front core 1 and a rear core 2.
- the outer shape 3 of the projectile 10, viewed from the projectile nose 4, is formed in ogiver shape and merges into a cylindrical central region 5 and ends in a conical rear region 6.
- the middle region 5 has a circumferential rounded groove 7.
- the two cores 1 and 2 are made of solid material.
- the rear-side core 2 is positively placed centered on the front core 1 by means of an engagement region which carries the reference numerals 11 and 12.
- the size ratios of the front-side core 1 and the rear-side core 2 are such that this rear-side core 2 fills the entire cylindrical central region 5 and the truncated cone-shaped rear region 6 of the projectile 10.
- the connection between the two cores 1 and 2 may be an interference fit, which means here, for example, that by simply loading both cores 1 and 2 with shearing forces by a user, the two cores 1 and 2 can not be separated.
- the fits can be specified exactly according to ISA. In this respect, other seats are possible.
- Essential is the effect of the assembly of the projectile 10, which leads to a non-gravity connection.
- connection of the projectile halves is a clamping connection and / or a frictional connection, provided that it is ensured that only the parts only come apart in the event of an impact, even at a low angle.
- Supportive acts in the cohesion of the projectile, which act on the projectile 10 in the use of substantially forces in the longitudinal direction.
- the projectile 10 fired from a firearm does not strike a surface face-to-face, for example a surface which is at an angle between 5 and 30 degrees to the direction of flight, ie longitudinal axis 20, of the projectile 10, sufficient shear forces are applied the projectile 10 and it breaks down into the two cores 1 and 2, whereby the other danger area is greatly reduced after the rebound.
- a collision of the projectile 10 on an arbitrary oriented to the firing direction 20 surface the projectile 10 is thus decomposed into two safer bullets.
- Suitable embodiments of the engagement region of the two cores 1 and 2 comprise a central butt cone 11 of the front core 1 at an angle between 1 and 20 degrees, preferably between 2 and 10 degrees, in particular 3 degrees relative to the longitudinal axis 20 of the projectile 10, and a for This advantageously has almost the same angle, in particular a slightly smaller angle, as the truncated cone 11, for example a smaller by 0.2 to 1 degree, in particular 0.5 degrees smaller Angle, that means here an angle of 2.5 degrees with respect to the longitudinal axis 20 by 0.03 millimeters smaller inner diameter of the rear frustoconical core cone 12 when the two abutment surfaces 13 of the two cores 1 and 2 are pressed together, so that no air gap at the surfaces 13 is.
- the thickness of the wall 14 of the rear core cone 12 is in the embodiment shown here on the stop surface 13, that is, in the cylindrical central region 5, 1.17 millimeters at an outer diameter of 10.884 millimeters.
- the wall thickness of the frustoconical hollow cone 12 can be between 1/5 and 1/3 of the diameter of the projectile 10 in its cylindrical section.
- the dimensions of the stop surfaces 15, however, are identical on both cores 1 and 2.
- the stop surfaces 15 extend like the surfaces 13 in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal direction 20 of the projectile 10.
- the depth or height of the cones 11 and 12 is preferably identical, so that in successive set and pressed or pressed cores 1 and 2 on the outside flush bullet 10 results.
- the height of the front core cone 11 in this embodiment is 4 millimeters and thus between 1/4 to 1/8, here 1/6 of the length of one of the two cores 1 or 2.
- cones 11 and 12 of the cores 1 and 2 instead of the cones 11 and 12 of the cores 1 and 2 also substantially complementary cylindrical elements can interlock.
- the cores 1 and 2 here are advantageously formed of identical material.
- the two cores 1 and 2 can both be made of steel of similar hardness or the same steel, resulting in a material-like connection, clamping connection or press fit.
- the production is opposite the storeys very simple according to the state of the art. In particular, it is not necessary to press the hard front core 1 and then the soft rear core 2 into a shell of the projectile 10.
- the length of the front core 1 is for example 24 millimeters, while the length of the rear core 2 is for example 23 millimeters.
- the length or weight ratio of the cores 1 and 2 to one another can be selected, for example, between 1: 3 to 3: 1, advantageously between 1: 2 to 2: 1 and even more preferably between 1: 1.3 to 1.3: 1.
- the projectile 10 may be configured as a shell projectile in another embodiment of the invention, the shell of the projectile 10 then only has leadership properties in the tube and is made so thin that the mantle in any way with the destruction of the projectile 10 upon impact of the projectile 10 interferes with a target.
- the two-piece cores 1 and 2 shown in the figure are first compressed before a jacket is over-pressed over the resulting projectile 10. This jacket can be crimped in particular in the groove 7.
- the two-part projectile 10 can also be constructed exactly the other way round, whereby the walls 14 are thus formed on the front core 1.
