Description

The invention relates to a coupling device for the ends, supported on a common bogie, of two articulated vehicle units of a rail-bound articulated vehicle, consisting of a fork head fastened to one vehicle unit and having two lateral fork pieces, and a connecting bracket fastened to the other vehicle unit and inserted between the two fork pieces and an aligned openings in the fork pieces of the fork head and the connecting plate passing through the coupling bolt with a spherical bearing arranged in the connecting plate, wherein the upper part of a rotating pan supported on the bogie is arranged under the fork head.

In the case of rail-bound articulated vehicles in which two interconnected vehicle units are supported on a common bogie, care must be taken to ensure that the tensile and braking forces are transmitted without play and that the support forces are evenly distributed so that the running properties of the articulated vehicle are not adversely affected.

From US-PS 16 21 917 such a coupling device is known in which a pivoting pivot bearing between the two car bodies and a spherical bearing are arranged, wherein this coupling device is supported on a common bogie. In this coupling device, the pivot pin bearing has the same center of curvature as the spherical bearing of the bogie. Because the pivot pin of this Device is axially firmly enclosed by cylindrical half-shells, a limited pivotability of the car bodies about the pivot pin center axis is possible, but not transversely to this.

Montage.DE-GM 66 09 630 also discloses a coupling device between two vehicle units and an intermediate bogie, in which the two vehicle units are pivotally connected to one another by a pivot pin connection and are supported on the intermediate frame via a spherical bearing. In this construction, two spherical rings with abutting sliding surfaces of the same radius and the same center of curvature are arranged on the pivot pin connection, which form an inner bearing element and an outer shell element, the spherical bearing on the pivot pin and the spherical bearing on the intermediate bogie having the same center of curvature of their bearing surfaces . This coupling device solves the task set satisfactorily. However, the storage and assembly or disassembly of the bearing pin is disadvantageous in this embodiment. Due to the high forces to be transmitted horizontally and vertically by the bearing pin, the bearing pin must be very large. For the play-free mounting of the coupling pin, which is required to achieve good running properties, tight fits in the mounting of the coupling pin are also required. These components, in conjunction with the fretting rust in the bearing of the coupling bolt, which arises during the rough railway operation and unfavorable weather conditions, means that the disassembly or assembly of the coupling bolt is extremely expensive.

The object of the present invention was to design a coupling device of the type mentioned in such a way that, on the one hand, the required properties with regard to power transmission and play-free storage are ensured, on the other hand, easy assembly and disassembly of the coupling bolt and detachment of the two vehicle units from one another are ensured with simple means is.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the spherical bearing with the coupling bolt is arranged firmly in the connecting plate, both fork pieces horizontally divided, from a lower fixed and an upper detachable bearing shell existing bearings for the coupling pin, via which the coupling pin can be clamped in the fork pieces. Here, according to an embodiment of the invention, the spherical bearing consists of a partial ball of the coupling pin in the longitudinal center thereof, to which a bearing ring with a cylindrical outer and partially spherical inner jacket is arranged at a distance and the partial balls of the coupling pin and the bearing ring are connected to one another by a vulcanized rubber intermediate layer. According to a second embodiment of the invention, the spherical bearing consists of a bearing with a cylindrical outer and inner ring which is fixedly arranged in the longitudinal center on the coupling pin, the outer ring being spherically movable relative to the inner ring. Appropriately, according to the invention, the coupling pin is held on one side by a collar in the bore and on the other side by a closure piece via the spherical bearing in a cylindrical bore of the connecting bracket. Advantageously, the coupling pin on both sides of the spherical bearing shoulders, which stand with play in front of the bearing shells of the bearings of the fork pieces.

In this coupling device according to the invention, the coupling bolt with the spherical bearing is advantageously preassembled on the connecting bracket of the one vehicle unit and, after vertical insertion into the lower bearing shells of the bearings of the fork pieces of the other vehicle unit, clamped with simple means by means of the upper detachable bearing shells. In this way, easy assembly and disassembly of the two interconnected vehicle units and easy replacement of the coupling device is ensured. Simple and low-maintenance components also ensure that the coupling device is always free of play, even when the rail vehicle is in use for a long time.

Details of the invention are explained in the drawing using an exemplary embodiment.

On one vehicle unit 1 of the articulated vehicle, a fork head 2 having two lateral fork pieces 2a is arranged, while on the other vehicle unit 3, a connecting bracket 4 projecting between the fork pieces 2a is fixedly arranged on the front end facing the vehicle unit 1. The fork pieces 2a of the fork head 2 and the connecting bracket 4 have axially identical openings 5 which are aligned with one another and are arranged horizontally transversely to the longitudinal axis of the carriage. Arranged in the openings 5 is a coupling pin 6, which is partially spherical in its central region and carries a spherical bearing 7 on this partially spherical region. Vertically below the fork pieces 2a of the fork head 2, the upper part of a rotary pan 8 is releasably fastened to the latter, which is supported on the lower part of the rotary pan 8, not shown, of the bogie, also not shown. Rotary pan 8 and spherical bearing 7 have the same center of rotation. The spherical bearing 7 carries an outer ring 9 which is arranged at a distance from the part-spherical region of the coupling bolt 6 and which is cylindrical in shape on its outer jacket and rests at one end against a collar 10 in the connecting plate. A closure piece 11 secures the outer ring 9 of the spherical bearing 7 at its other longitudinal end in the connecting tab. The outer ring 9 of the spherical bearing 7 is connected to the partially spherical region of the coupling bolt 6 by a vulcanized rubber intermediate layer 12 connecting them.

The fork pieces 2a of the fork head 2 each have a horizontally divided bearing consisting of a lower fixed and an upper detachable bearing shell 13 or 14 for the coupling bolt 6. The upper bearing shells 14 can be connected to the lower bearing shells 13 by screws 15.

To assemble the coupling device, the coupling bolt 6 with its vulcanized-in spherical bearing consisting of the rubber intermediate layer 12 and the outer ring 9 is inserted into the connecting bracket 4 and secured with the closure piece 11. Then the vehicle unit 3 with the connecting bracket 4 is vertically from above into the lower one Bearing cups 13 of the clevis 2 are used. Here, the connecting bolt 6 is supported on both sides of the spherical bearing 7 with its appropriately designed longitudinal ends on the lower bearing shells 13 and each with a shoulder 16 with a defined play in front of these lower bearing shells 13. To fasten the coupling bolt 6, the upper bearing shells 14 are placed on the lower bearing shells 13 placed and the connecting bolt 6 jammed over the upper bearing shells 14 by means of the screws 15.

In an exemplary embodiment of the invention, not shown, the partially spherical region of the coupling pin 6 is omitted. In this case, the intermediate rubber bearing 12 and the outer ring 11 are replaced by a spherical standard bearing. The corresponding shoulders and devices that fix this standard bearing are arranged on the coupling pin 6.
