Abstract
747,694. Bogies for railway vehicles. SCHWEIZERISCHE LOKOMOTIV - UND MASCHINENFABRIK. Oct. 28, 1953 [Nov. 10, 1952], No. 29803/53. Class 103 (6). A resilient coupling between the bogies of a rail vehicle comprises a casing 3, Figs. 1 and 2, secured to the left-hand bogie frame 1 and having transverse and vertical boxes 5 and 6 locating springs 11, 10, and a pair of integral co-operating forks 8, 9 mounted on the righthand bogie frame 2. The springs are pretensioned and are each partly surrounded by end caps 14 which are in the form of cylindrical guides 12 with tops 13 and are adapted to abut against flanges 15 and covers 15a of the boxes 5, 6. Removable friction plates 17, to contact the cap tops 13, are preferably fitted to the forks 8, 9, and a hole 16 may be provided in the casing 3 between the boxes 5, 6 for the passage of lubricant. In a modification the springs are disposed in the same transverse plane. In another arrangement, as shown for example in Figs. 7 and 18, the forks 8, 9 are replaced by a journal 25 having a spherical end bush 31 engaging a loose sliding member 30 which is mounted in a cross-shaped spring casing 47 locating springs 10, 10, 11, 11, with surrounding eye bushes 26, 27.
