Definitions

  • the invention relates to an office machine, e.g. B. on a printer, with a printing unit, with a single paper transport via a first pair of rollers in front and a second behind the printing unit and with an endless paper transport via a tractor.
  • Such an office machine designed as a printer is such. B. become known from EP 0 197 340 A2.
  • the known printer has a pair of rollers each with a drive roller and a pressure roller in the direction of flow of the paper in front of and behind the printing unit.
  • a tractor is provided for the transport of continuous paper, which essentially has a straight paper track, the tractor operating in overrun mode.
  • the pressure rollers of one pair of rollers lying in front of the printing unit are opened.
  • the tractor is pivoted so that single sheets can now be guided over both pairs of rollers, both pressure rollers being pressed against the corresponding drive rollers.
  • the invention has for its object to design an office machine of the type mentioned in such a way that the pressure rollers of the roller pairs which are no longer required when the tractor is switched from overrun to pull operation can be opened in a simple manner or can be released from their drive rollers.
  • This object is achieved in that the tractor can be pivoted from a push position into a pull position and has two stops, that the pressure rollers of the first pair of rollers can be released by the action of the first stop when the tractor is pivoted into the pull position, and that the pressure rollers arranged on a housing pivot part of the second pair of rollers when the housing pivoting part is closed can be released by the second stop projecting in the pulling position.
  • the aforementioned pressure rollers are automatically released from their respective drive rollers by simple adjustment of the tractor, so that the path for the continuous paper to be processed in the pull position can no longer be blocked by the pressure rollers.
  • the automatic opening is carried out by two stops, the first of which acts upon the first pair of rollers when the tractor is pivoted and the second acts upon the second pair of rollers after the tractor has been pivoted in the sense of opening or releasing the respective drive rollers.
  • the first stop acts on a lever mechanism with a rod which is connected at one end to the pressure rollers of the first pair of rollers via a one-armed rotary lever these are opened or closed during a longitudinal movement, and which is articulated at its other end to a lever arm of a two-armed rotary lever, the free lever arm of which has a curved engagement surface for engaging the first tractor stop.
  • the engagement of the first stop over the curved contact surface causes a smooth and reliable actuation of the lever mechanism.
  • the one-armed rotary lever has a flattened rotary shaft on one end of the rod, on which a leaf spring rests under pressure, the free end of the leaf spring acting on the bearing of the pressure rollers in such a way that when the leaf spring rests on it Circumference of the rotary shaft is open and pressed against the flattened part.
  • An automatic return to the starting position takes place in that the rod of the lever gear is pulled into its starting position by a spring in the pushing position of the tractor.
  • a simple way of opening the pressure rollers of the second pair of rollers results from the fact that these pressure rollers are arranged resiliently on a carrier which is designed as a paper tail unit in the tractor pushing position and is in turn rotatably mounted on the housing pivot part and which, when the housing pivot part is open, counteracts a tension spring a projection of the housing pivot part is pressed.
  • the housing swivel part is pivotally mounted in the side walls of the housing of the office machine and, in the opened, ie swiveled-up state, enables perfect access to the Tractor.
  • the pressure rollers of the second pair of rollers can be resilient on the upper guide flap of the paper tail unit, e.g. B. be supported by a leaf spring to maintain a uniform pressure in the closed state.
  • the printer has, as a central component, a printing unit 10 with a printing roller 11 mounted in the side walls of the housing.
  • 12 is the tractor for the transport of continuous paper, which is rotatably mounted in the housing walls by means of pins 13 and can assume two lockable end positions.
  • the first position is the push position according to FIGS. 1 and 2 and the second the pull position according to FIG. 3.
  • a housing pivoting part which is rotatable at the pivot point 15 of the housing walls and which facilitates access to the tractor 12 when folded up is designated by 14.
  • the swivel part 14 carries a switch 17 which can be rotated at point 16. This adjustable switch serves together with a pair of rollers 18 for deflecting individual paper or continuous paper which is conveyed by the printing unit 10.
  • 19 denotes a pair of rollers lying in front of the printing unit 10 and 20 denotes a pair of rollers behind the printing unit 10, 19a, 20a being the drive rollers and 19b, 20b being the pressure rollers.
  • the pressure rollers 20b are seated on a support 21 designed as a paper tail unit, which is rotatably mounted in the swivel part 14 via 22 and is pressed by a tension spring 23 against a projection 24 of the swivel part 14 when the swivel part 14 is swiveled up.
  • continuous paper 25 can be fed from behind by the tractor 12.
  • the continuous paper 25 runs over the pressure roller 11, is thereby curved and is conveyed upward over the pair of rollers 20, the paper tail unit 21 and the pair of rollers 18.
  • all drive rollers of the roller pairs 18, 19, 20 are in operation with the pressure rollers pressed on.
  • individual papers 26 can thus also be guided over the roller pairs 19, 20 and 18 when the tractor 12 is out of operation for conveying the continuous paper 25.
  • the tractor 12 has been pivoted into its pull position by pivoting in the direction 27.
  • the continuous paper 28 fed from the front is pulled by the tractor 12 and leaves the printer at its rear.
  • the pressure rollers 19b, 20b must be opened, ie they must be released from the respective drive rollers 19a, 20a, so that the traction movement of the tractor is not hindered.
  • the pressure rollers 19b are released in that when the tractor 12 is pivoted up, a first stop 29 of the tractor 12 acts on the pressure rollers 19b via a lever linkage 30.
  • a rod 31 is articulated at one end to a two-armed lever 32 which is mounted in the housing via 33 and has a curved engagement surface 34 for engaging the stop 29 on the free lever arm 32a.
  • the stop 29 slides on the surface 34, so that the rod 31 is deflected in the direction 31b against the force of a spring 31a.
  • a one-armed lever 35 which has a flattened shaft 36 is mounted in the housing.
  • a leaf spring 37 abuts either the circular circumference or the flattened point 36a when the lever 35 rotates. 1 and 2, the leaf spring 37 lies on the flattened portion 36a and thus presses the pressure rollers 19b against the drive rollers 19a. 3, the leaf spring 37 is raised by rotation of the lever 35, so that the pressure rollers 19b are released.
  • the pressure rollers 20b located behind the printing unit 10 are released from the associated drive rollers 20a by first moving the tractor 12 in the direction 27 into the pull position shown in FIG. 3 when the housing pivoting part 14 (FIG. 2) is pivoted up.
  • a second stop 38 attached to the tractor 12 is brought into the movement path of the swivel part 14 in such a way that when it swivels down, the paper tail 21 rotatable on the swivel part 14 with the pressure rollers 20b attached to it is raised by this stop 38, as a result of which the pressure rollers 20b are lifted from the Drive rollers 20a are released.
  • This also clears the way for the transport of the continuous paper 24, since the paper tail 21 is pivoted out of the path of the continuous paper 28 by the rotary movement.
  • a simple design of the tractor with two cleverly arranged stops means that the pressure rollers required in the pushing position of the tractor can be released by simply pivoting the tractor up into the pulling position.
  • a paper guide can be used be removed from the area of the paper run during train operation. The release of the pressure rollers on the one hand and, if necessary, the change in the paper guidance is thus carried out automatically by the adjustment of the tractor, without any additional components having to be added or removed. This is achieved only through a clever and well thought-out interaction between the stops of the tractor on the one hand and the pressure rollers on the other.
