Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for producing packs by wrapping objects in alternatively one or more blanks, in particular for producing large packs from pack groups (cigarette sticks each consisting of several cigarette packs), with a first folding turret for wrapping in a blank , in particular cardboard blank, and a second folding turret for wrapping in another blank, in particular a paper or film blank, the folding turrets each having a plurality of pockets open in the radial direction, each for receiving an object or a pack group with one Cutting, and wherein the object or the pack group can be inserted directly into the adjacent, second folding turret by being pushed out of a pocket of the same.
  • pack groups cigarette sticks each consisting of several cigarette packs
  • Cigarette sticks for example, consist of ten packs of cigarettes that are encased in a common blank. This can consist of cardboard, paper or a film.
  • the construction of such large packs can be chosen so that the pack group is encased by several blanks.
  • the pack group is alternatively wrapped in a paper blank, in a foil blank or in both of the aforementioned blanks.
  • the pack group runs through one or two folding revolvers, in the area of which cuts can be made and folds can be made.
  • the large pack provided with one or more blanks leaves the device, depending on the structure, in the area of a first, upper folding turret or in the area of the second, lower folding turret. The package exit is therefore on two different levels.
  • the invention is based on a device according to DE-A-3 123 496.
  • the object to be achieved is to make the device simpler and more effective in its construction, in particular with regard to a higher output. Furthermore, regardless of the particular design of the pack selected, the outlet thereof from the device should always be on the same level.
  • the device according to the invention is characterized in that the objects or pack groups always pass through both folding turrets, with cardboard and paper or film cutting alternatively or cumulatively being able to be fed to the respective folding turret, and in that both folding turrets each have three pockets and can be driven with the same direction of rotation.
  • the pack group therefore always takes the same route, regardless of which of the blanks is provided as a covering.
  • This has the advantage that the output of the finished packs is always in the same plane, so that further transport can also be standardized.
  • the device according to the invention consists of two folding turrets, of which the first (upper) is intended and set up exclusively for processing cardboard blanks.
  • the following folding turret through which the pack groups or the wrapping wrapped in the cardboard blank passes in any case, is intended for processing paper or foil blanks.
  • a material web is brought up to the outer circumference of this second folding turret and held by suction bores.
  • a paper or film blank is kept ready in the area of a pocket of the folding turret and is placed in a U-shape around the pack or pack group when it is inserted into the pocket.
  • the different design options of the packs are given by the fact that, alternatively, no cardboard blanks are fed in the area of the first folding turret or no blanks are fed in the area of the second folding turret.
  • the second folding turret is designed in a special way for processing the film blanks. This is assigned a special feeding device, which, in cooperation with the folding turret, ensures that the film-technical cuts that are critical in terms of packaging technology can be processed without any problems, despite unfavorable dimensions (small dimensions in the direction of conveyance with a relatively large width).
  • the film blanks are separated from the film web on a cutting roller and fed to the circumference of the folding turret by the cutting roller.
  • the unit consisting of the folding turrets and the cutting roller on the one hand and the feed device on the other hand work discontinuously or intermittently, and in counter-clockwise fashion.
  • the feed device stops, while conversely it feeds a section of the film web, while the folding turret and cutting roller stand still.
  • a free supply of material is formed between the above-mentioned units or devices, preferably as a free sag, which ensures perfect, wrinkle-free or tension-free transport of the web section or the film cut to the second folding turret.
  • features of the invention accordingly relate to the configuration of the folding turret, the cutting roller and the feed device. Furthermore, features of the invention relate to the first folding turret and devices for feeding and preparing the cardboard blank.
  • the present exemplary embodiment relates above all to the production of larger packs 20 from several individual, smaller packs, in particular cigarette packs 21, which are combined to form a pack group 22 and leave the device as cigarette packs.
  • the pack group 22 can alternatively be wrapped in a cardboard blank 23 and / or in a foil blank 24 or in a paper blank (not shown).
  • FIG. 1 An example of a cardboard blank 23 is shown in FIG. 1. This accordingly consists of individual surface areas for forming the top wall 25, bottom wall 26, side walls 27 and 28 and a tubular flap 29. In the area of the bottom wall 26 and the side walls 27 and 28 there are side flaps 30.
  • the foil blank according to FIG. 2 is constructed in a similar manner, namely also with top wall 31, bottom wall 32, side wall 33 and two edge-side tubular tabs 34 and 35 to form a side wall. All of the above cut parts are provided with end flaps 36 on the side.
  • the cardboard blank 23 is prefabricated, namely pre-punched, while the foil blank 24 is separated from a continuous foil web 37.
  • the pack group 22 is wrapped in one or both of the blanks according to FIGS. 1 and 2.
  • the pack group 22 passes through a first folding turret 38 and then a second folding turret 39 regardless of the number and type of cuts. From the latter, the packs 20 are pushed out in the radial direction into an essentially horizontal removal path 40 This, in turn, is followed by an upright packing tower 41, into which the finished packs 20 are inserted from below.
  • a blank magazine 42 is assigned to the first folding turret 38 to hold a supply of cardboard blanks 23.
  • a cardboard blank 23 is removed by a roller 43 of a known type and into an upright blank path 44 introduced.
  • the cardboard blank 23 is conveyed in the upright plane in front of a mouthpiece 46 by transport rollers 45 in the region of this blank web 44.
  • This is arranged upstream of the first folding turret 38 in such a way that the pack group 22 can be inserted in a horizontal plane through the mouthpiece 46 into a pocket 47 of the folding turret 38.
  • the mouthpiece 46 delimits a mouthpiece opening 48 which essentially corresponds in size to that of the pack group 22.
  • the mouthpiece 46 is formed on the input side with converging upper and lower guide surfaces 49. These center the pack group 22 when inserted into the folding turret 38.
  • the cardboard blank 23 is taken into the pocket 47 when the pack group 22 is inserted and is placed in a U-shape around the pack group 22, the side wall 27 being forward in the direction of movement while the remaining, still unfolded parts of the blank rest as a leg on the top and bottom of the pack group 22.
  • the cardboard blank 23 is supported on a lower stop 50 before being inserted into the folding turret 38. Furthermore, the cardboard blank 23 is pre-shaped in a U-shape before insertion.
  • the mouthpiece 46 is movable, namely can be pressed against the (upright) cardboard blank 23 by a swivel arm 51.
  • the U-shaped embossing takes place through the design of the mouthpiece opening 48.
  • the relatively rigid cardboard blank 23 can now be inserted into the pocket 47 by the pack group 22.
  • the pack group 22 lies on a horizontal platform 54 in front of the insertion.
  • the cigarette group 22 is conveyed onto this platform transversely to the insertion direction, in the present case by a peripheral conveyor belt 55 on the top side effects the insertion of the pack group 22 together with the cardboard blank 23 into the pocket 47.
  • the closing flap 30 connected to the side wall 27 is folded over against the end face of the packing group 22, namely by a folder 57 in the area of the mouthpiece 46.
  • the folded closing flap 30 is in the pocket 47 lateral webs 58 held at the ends of the pockets 47.

  • the pack 20 or the pack group 22 produced so far is ejected from the pocket of the first folding turret 38 and at the same time inserted into an adjacent pocket 65 of the second folding turret 39.
  • the folding turret 39 is also equipped with three pockets 65 arranged at equal circumferential distances from one another.
