Forbindelser med den almene formel II, hvor m er 0, og A er en triarylphosphoniumgruppe (Ila) eller en dialkoxyphosphinylgruppe (Ile), kan f.eks. fremstilles ved, at en tilsvarende benzen, som 1 5 er substitueret med de ved symbolerne R - R angivne grupper, behandles med formaldehyd i nærværelse af en hydrogenhalogenidsyre, f.eks. i nærværelse af koncentreret saltsyre, eventuelt i et opløsningsmiddel, især i iseddike, og det resulterende benzylhalogenid, 1 5 som er substitueret med de ved symbolerne R - R angivne grupper, (et halogenid med den almene formel Ili, hvor m er 0) på i og for sig kendt måde omsættes med en triarylphosphin i et opløsningsmiddel, især med triphenylphosphin i toluen eller benzen, eller med et trialkylphosphit, især med triethylphosphit.

Forbindelser med den almene formel II, hvor m er 1, og A er en triarylphosphoniumgruppe (Ilb) eller en dialkylphosphinylgruppe (Ild), kan f.eks. fremstilles på følgende måde: Den tilsvarende benzen, som 1 5 er substitueret med de ved symbolerne R - R angivne grupper, underkastes først en formyleringsreaktion, idet f.eks. et formyleringsmiddel lades indvirke på udgangsforbindelsen. Dette kan f.eks. udføres således, at udgangsforbindelsen formy leres i nærværelse af en Lewis-syre. Som formyleringsreagenser kan især anvendes følgende forbindelser: orthomyresyreester, formylchlorid og dimethylformamid. Som Lewis-syrer er især halogenider af zink, aluminium, titan, tin og jern såsom zinkchlorid, aluminiumtrichlorid, titantetrachlo-rid, tintetrachlorid og jerntrichlorid egnede, og endvidere halogenider af uorganiske og organiske syrer såsom phosphoroxychlorid og methansulfochlorid.
Formyleringen kan eventuelt udføres uden tilsætning af et yderligere opløsningsmiddel, når formyleringsmidlet anvendes i overskud.

Sædvanligvis anbefales det dog at udføre omsætningen i et inert opløsningsmiddel, f.eks. i nitrobenzen, eller i et chloreret carbon-hydrid såsom methylenchlorid. Reaktionstemperaturen kan være mellem 0°C og reaktionsblandingens kogetemperatur.
Det vundne benzaldehyd, som er substitueret med de ved symbolerne R - R angivne grupper, kan derefter på i og for sig kendt måde forlænges til phenylbut-3-en-2-onen, som er substitueret med de ved 1 5 symbolerne R - R angivne grupper, ved kondensation med acetone under afkøling, dvs. i et temperaturområde på ca. 0 - 30°C, i nærværelse af alkali, f.eks. i nærværelse af en fortyndet vandig natri-umhydroxidopløsning, og den pågældende phenylbut-3-en-2-on kan på i og for sig kendt måde under anvendelse af en metalorganisk omsætning, f.eks. ved en Grignard-reaktion ved tilsætning af acetylen omdannes til den tilsvarende phenyl-3-methyl-3-hydroxypenta-4-en-l-yn, som 1 5 er substitueret med·de ved symbolerne R - R angivne grupper. Den vundne tertiære acetylencarbinol hydrogeneres derefter delvis på i og for sig kendt måde under anvendelse af en delvis forgiftet ædelmetalkatalysator (Lindlar-katalysator). Den vundne tertiære ethylen-carbinol kan derefter ved allylomlejring ved behandling med en tri-arylphosphin, især med triphenylphosphin, i nærværelse af en mineralsyre, f.eks. i nærværelse af et hydrogenhalogenid såsom chlor-eller brombrinte, eller i nærværelse af svovlsyre i et opløsningsmiddel, f.eks. i benzen, omdannes til det ønskede phosphoniumsalt med den almene formel Ilb, hvor m er 1. Ifølge den af Julia angivne fremgangsmåde kondenseres forbindelserne med hinanden under anvendelse af et kondensationsmiddel, hensigtsmæssigt i nærværelse af et polært opløsningsmiddel. Som opløsningsmiddel er f.eks. dimethylformamid, dimethylsulfoxid, dimethylacet-amid, tetrahydrofuran og hexamethylphosphorsyretriamid egnede, samt endvidere alkanoler såsom methanol, isopropanol og tert.butanol.
Som eksempler på kondensationsmidler, især stærke baser, kan angives alkali- og jordalkalimetalcarbonater, især natriumcarbonat, alkali-metalhydroxider såsom kalium- eller natriumhydroxid, alkali- og jordalkalimetalalkoholater såsom natriummethylat og især kalium--tert.butylat, alkalimetalhydrider såsom natriumhydrid, alkylmagne-siumhalogenider såsom methylmagnesiumbromid, samt yderligere alka-limetalamider såsom natriumamid. De ifølge opfindelsen fremstillede forbindelser med den almene formel I er farmakodynamisk værdifulde forbindelser. Forbindelserne kan anvendes til topisk og systemisk terapi af benigne og maligne neoplasmer, af præmaligne læsioner samt endvidere også til systemisk og topisk profylakse af de angivne lidelser. Forbindelserne er endvidere egnede til topisk og systemisk terapi af acne, psoriasis og andre med en forstærket eller patologisk forandret horndannelse optrædende dermatoser, samt også til betændelsesagtige og allergiske dermatologiske lidelser. De ifølge opfindelsen fremstillede forbindelser med den almene formel I kan endvidere også anvendes til bekæmpelse af slimhindesygdomme med betændelsesagtige eller degenerative eller metaplastiske forandringer.
Toxiciteten af forbindelserne i den hidtil ukendte klasse er ringe.
Den akutte toxicitet (DL^-værdi) af 9-(4-methoxy-2,3,6-trimethyl-phenyl)-3,7-dimethylnona-2,4,6,8-tetraen-l-syre (betegnes A) og af 9-(4-methoxy-2,3,β-trimethylphenyl)-3,7-dimethylnona-2,4,6,8--tetraen-l-syreethylester (betegnes B) ligger f.eks. - som det fremgår af følgende tabel over sentoxiciteten efter 20 døgns forløb -hos mus efter intraperitoneal administration i roeolie på 700 hhv.

Papillomens diameter aftager i løbet af 2 uger ved intraperitoneal administration af 50 mg forbindelse A pr. kg pr. uge med 38%, af 100 mg forbindelse A pr. kg pr. uge med 69%, af 25 mg forbindelse B pr. kg pr. uge med 45% og af 50 mg pr. kg pr. uge med 63%.
Forbindelser med den almene formel I kan derfor anvendes som lægemidler, f.eks. i form af farmaceutiske præparater.
De til systemisk anvendelse anvendelige præparater kan f.eks. fremstilles ved, at en forbindelse med den almene formel I som aktiv bestanddel sættes til ikke-toxiske, inerte, i sig selv i sådanne præparater sædvanlige faste eller flydende bærestoffer.
Præparaterne kan administreres enteralt eller parenteralt. Egnede til den enterale indgivelse er f.eks. præparater i fonn af tabletter, kapsler, dragéer, sirupper, suspensioner, opløsninger og suppositorier. Egnede til den parenterale administration er præparater i form af infusions- eller injektionsopløsninger.

Doseringerne, i hvilke de her omhandlede præparater skal administreres, kan variere afhængigt af anvendelsesarten og -måden samt efter patienternes behov.
De her omhandlede præparater kan administreres i mængder på 5 -200 mg daglig i én eller flere doseringer. En foretrukken indgivelsesform er kapsler med et indhold på ca. 10 - 100 mg aktivt stof.
Præparaterne kan indeholde inerte eller farmakodynamisk aktive tilsætninger. Tabletter eller qranulater kan f.eks. indeholde forskellige bindemidler, fyldstoffer, bærestoffer eller fortyndingsmidler. Flydende præparater kan f.eks. foreligge i form af en steril, med vand blandbar opløsning. Kapsler kan foruden det aktive stof yderligere indeholde et fyldmateriale eller fortykkelsesmiddel. Det er en forudsætning, at alle ved fremstillingen af præparaterne anvendte hjælpestoffer er ikke-toxiske.
Til topisk administration anvendes de her omhandlede præparater hensigtsmæssigt i form af salver, tinkturer, cremer, opløsninger, lotioner, sprays og suspensioner. Salver og cremer samt opløsninger foretrækkes. Disse til topisk administration anvendelige præparater kan fremstilles ved, at de ifølge opfindelsen fremstillede forbindelser som aktiv bestanddel blandes med ikke-toxiske, inerte, til topisk behandling egnede, i og for sig i sådanne præparater sædvanlige faste eller flydende bærestoffer.
Egnede til den topiske anvendelse er hensigtsmæssigt ca. 0,01 -0,3%'s opløsninger, fortrinsvis 0,02 - 0,1%'s opløsninger, samt ca.
0,05 - 5%'s salver eller cremer, fortrinsvis ca. 0,1 - 2,0%'s salver eller cremer.

Fremgangsmåden ifølge opfindelsen belyses næmere ved de følgende eksempler:
Eksempel 1.
228 g 5-(4-methoxy-2,3,6-trimethylphenyl)-3-methylpenta-2,4-dien--1-triphenylphosphoniumbromid optages under nitrogentilledning i 910 ml dimethylformamid, og under afkøling ved 5 - 10 °C tilsættes i løbet af 20 minutter 17,5 g af en suspension af natriumhydrid (ca. 50%'s) i mineralolie. Blandingen omrøres i 1 time ved ca. 10°C, derefter tilsættes ved 5 - 8°C dråbevis 61,8 g 3-formylcrotonsyre-butylester, der opvarmes i 2 timer ved 65°C, derefter optages blandingen i 8 liter isvand, og efter tilsætning af 300 g natriumchlo-rid ekstraheres udtømmende med i alt 18 liter hexan. Ekstrakten vaskes fem gange med hver gang 1 liter methanol/vand (6:4) og to gange med hver gang 1,5 liter vand, tørres over natriumsulfat og inddampes under reduceret tryk. Den resulterende 9-(4-methoxy-2,3,6--trimethylphenyl)-3,7-dimethylnona-2,4,6,8-tetraen-l-syrebutylester med smeltepunkt 80 - 81°C kan på følgende måde omdannes til den frie syre: 125,8 g 9-(4-methoxy-2,3,6-trimethylphenyl)-3,7-dimethylnona-2,4,6,8--tetraen-l-syrebutylester optages i 2000 ml absolut ethanol, og der tilsættes en opløsning af 125,8 g kaliumhydroxid i 195 ml vand. Blandingen opvarmes under nitrogentilledning i 30 minutter til kogning, afkøles derefter, optages i 10 liter isvand og ekstraheres udtømmende med i alt 9 liter methylenchlorid efter tilsætning af ca. 240 ml koncentreret saltsyre (pH-værdi 2 - 4). Ekstrakten vaskes neutral med ca. 6 liter vand, tørres over calciumchlorid og inddampes under reduceret tryk. Remanensen optages i 700 ml hexan. Den udfældede 9-(4-methoxy-2,3,6-trimethylphenyl)-3,7-dimethylnona--2,4,6,8-tetraen-l-syre smelter ved 228 - 230°C.
Det som udgangsforbindelse anvendte 5-(4-methoxy-2,3,6-trimethyl-phenyl)-3-methylpenta-2,4-dien-1-triphenylphosphoniumbromid kan f.eks. fremstilles på følgende måde: 17

500 g 2,3,5-trimethylphenol optages i 1840 ml ethanol og 184 ml vand, og under svag omrøring tilsættes 240 g kaliumhydroxid. Til den fremstillede klare opløsning dryppes ved en temperatur på 0 -5°C i løbet af 30 - 45 minutter 626 g methyliodid. Reaktionsblandingen omrøres i 2 timer ved stuetemperatur og derefter i 12 timer ved 60“C under tilbagesvalingsbetingelser, der tilsættes 5 liter vand og ekstraheres udtømmende med i alt 6 liter ether. Ekstrakten vaskes først med 3 liter 3N natriumhydroxidopløsning og derefter to gange med hver gang 1 liter vand, tørres over natriumsulfat og inddampes under reduceret tryk. Det resulterende 2,3,5-trimethyl-anisol koger efter rektifikation ved 88 - 90°C/10 mm Hg.
I 87,1 g dimethylformamid optages under omrøring ved en temperatur på 10 - 20°C i løbet af 20 - 30 minutter 184 g phosphoroxychlorid. Temperaturen skal mod afslutningen af tilsætningen stige til 25°C. I den vundne blanding optages under afkøling i løbet af 20 minutter ved en temperatur på 10 - 20 “C 150 g 2,3,5-trimethylanisol. Reaktionsblandingen opvarmes langsomt til en temperatur på maksimalt 115°C, til fuldstændiggørelse af omsætningen omrøres i 6 timer ved 100“C, efter afkøling hældes blandingen i 2 kg is/vand (1:1), og efter tilsætning af 1500 ml benzen tilsættes 500 g natriumacetat.
Den dannede vandfase fraskilles efter 1 times omrøring og ekstraheres med 100 ml benzen. De samlede benzenekstrakter vaskes med 480 ml .
1,5N saltsyre og med 500 ml vand i den angivne rækkefølge, tørres over natriumsulfat og filtreres over 20 g aktivt kul. Filtratet inddampes under reduceret tryk. Det resulterende 2,3,6-trimethyl--p-anisaldehyd smelter efter omkrystallisation af hexan ved 65 -66 “C.
260 g 2,3,6-trimethyl-p-anisaldehyd optages i en blanding af 3500 ml acetone og 1400 ml vand, og ved en temperatur på 0 - 5°C tilsættes i løbet af ca. 30 minutter under omrøring 730 ml 10 vægtprocents natriumhydroxidopløsning. Blandingen omrøres i 3 døgn ved stuetemperatur og inddampes derefter under reduceret tryk, efter at pH-vær-dien ved tilsætning af eddikesyre er faldet til 4-5. Koncentratet ekstraheres med i alt 3000 ml ether. Etherekstrakten vaskes derefter med 700 ml af en vandig 5%'s natriumhydrogencarbonatopløsning og derefter med 700 ml vand, tørres over natriumsulfat og inddampes under reduceret tryk. Det resulterende olieagtige 4-(4-methoxy-2,3,- 6-trimethylphenyl)but-3-en-2-on koger efter rektifikation ved

36/45 g magnesium ætses med en ringe mængde iod og optages i 1000 ml tetrahydrofuran/ og der tilsættes under nitrogen i løbet af 45 minutter dråbevis 162,5 g ethylbromid. Temperaturen skal i begyndelsen være 8 - 10°C. Den kan mod afslutningen af tilsætningen stige til 25°C. Reaktionsblandingen omrøres, eventuelt under fornyet tilsætning aJ yderligere 5 - 10 ml alkylbromid, indtil magnesiummet er helt opløst. 40 - 60 minutters forløb efter optagelse af den til mætning af acetylen-ethylenbindingen nødvendige hydrogenmængde (25 liter). Hydrogeneringsopløsningen filtreres. 246 g 5-(4-methoxy-2,3,6-trimethylphenyl)-3-methy1-3-hydroxypenta--1,4-dien opløses i 2400 ml benzen. Til opløsningen sættes 343 g triphenylphosphin-hydrobromid, der omrøres i 24 timer ved 60°C og afkøles derefter, og benzenet fraskilles. 836 g af den vundne glyoxalsyrebutylester optages i 376 g propi-onaldehyd. Til blandingen sættes dråbevis ved 60eC 40,8 g di-n-bu-tylamin. Reaktionstemperaturen må ikke stige til mere end 106°C. Reaktionsblandingen omrøres derefter i 2 timer ved 106 - 111°C, afkøles og optages i ether. Etherekstrakten vaskes med 500 ml IN svovlsyre, med 700 ml vand, med 1000 ml af en 5%'s vandig natri-umhydrogencarbonatopløsning og derefter med 100 ml vand i den angivne rækkefølge, tørres over natriumsulfat og inddampes under reduceret tryk. 250 g l-brom-2,3,6-trimethylbenzen opløses i 400 ml ether. Opløsningen dryppes ved 20 - 30°C under svag afkøling til en suspension af 66,5 g med iod aktiveret magnesium og 200 ml ether. Til blandingen sættes dråbevis ved 20 - 30°C en opløsning af 135 g ethylbromid i 250 ml ether, og derefter opvarmes blandingen til kogning i 3 - 4 timer under tilbagesvalingsbetingelser. 43 g 2,3,5,6-tetramethylanisol i 110 ml vandfri eddikesyre optages i 203 ml 37%'s saltsyre, og der tilsættes dråbevis 21,6 g 37%'s formaldehyd. Reaktionsblandingen opvarmes i 3 timer ved 70°C under omrøring og omrøres ved 70eC i yderligere 3 timer efter fornyet tilsætning af 8,3 g 37%'s formaldehyd. Blandingen afkøles derefter til stuetemperatur og ekstraheres med 500 ml benzen. Benzenekstrakten fraskilles. Den vandige fase udrystes med benzen. De samlede benzenudtræk vaskes med vand, med en mættet, vandig natriumcarbo-natopløsning og med vand i den angivne rækkefølge, tørres og inddampes under reduceret tryk. Det resulterende 4-methoxy-2,3,5,6--tetramethylbenzylchlorid smelter efter omkrystallisation af eddikesyreethylester/hexan (1:3) ved 104 - 105°C.

Til 294 ml smørsyreanhydrid sættes efter tilsætning af 2 ml koncentreret svovlsyre ved stuetemperatur 122 g 3,5-dimethylphenol. Den først til ca. 40°C stigende reaktionstemperatur forhøjes til 80°C. Reaktionsblandingen fortyndes efter 1 times forløb med 60 ml vand og 60 ml ethanol, omrøres i 30 minutter, optages derefter i isvand og ekstraheres to gange med hver gang 500 ml hexan. Hexanekstrakten vaskes skiftevis med vand og med en mættet, vandig natriumhydrogen-carbonatopløsning, tørres over natriumsulfat og inddampes. Det resulterende l-butyryloxy-3,5-dimethylbenzen koger efter rektifikation ved 123 - 125eC/ll mm Hg.
Til 180 g l-butyryloxy-3,5-dimethylbenzen sættes ved stuetemperatur 340 g aluminiumchlorid. Reaktionsblandingen omrøres derefter i 4 timer ved 90 - 95°C, optages efter at temperaturen er faldet til 70°C i en blanding af is og 3N saltsyre og ekstraheres udtømmende med ether. Etherekstrakten vaskes neutral med vand, tørres over natriumsulfat og inddampes. Det resulterende 2-butyryl-3,5-dimethylphenol smelter efter omkrystallisation af petroleumsether ved 48 - 52eC.
10 g 2-butyryl-3,5-dimethylphenol opløses i 100 ml iseddike. Opløsningen hydrogeneres efter tilsætning af 0,5 g platinoxid og 3 dråber 70%'s perchlorsyre under normalbetingelser. Hydrogeneringen afbrydes efter optagelse af 3,0 liter hydrogen. Katalysatoren fjernes. Filtratet ekstraheres med ether. Etherekstrakten vaskes neutral med vand, tørres over natriumsulfat og inddampes. Den resulterende 2-butyl--3,5-dimethylphenol smelter efter rensning ved adsorption på sili-cagel (elueringsmiddel: methylenchlorid/hexan (1:1)) ved 65 - 67°C.
83 g 2-butyl-3,5-dimethylphenol opløses i 255 ml methanol. Til opløsningen sættes efter tilsætning af 60 g kaliumhydroxid i 25 ml vand ved stuetemperatur dråbevis 34,2 ml methyliodid. Reaktionsblandingen opvarmes i 3 timer under tilbagesvaling, afkøles derefter, fortyndes med vand og ekstraheres med ether. Etherekstrakten vaskes med en fortyndet natriumhydroxidopløsning, tørres over natriumsulfat og inddampes. Det resulterende 2-butyl-3,5-dimethylanisol renses ved adsorption på silicagel (elueringsmiddel: hexan/methylenchlorid (70:30)) og behandles på følgende måde:

Til blandingen sættes dråbevis 9,6 g 2-butyl-3,5-dimethylanisol„ og opvarmes derefter i 4 timer til 100 - 115°C, blandingen optages derefter i isvand, omrøres efter tilsætning af en 30 - 35%'s vandig natriumacetatopløsning i 1 time og ekstraheres derefter med benzen. Benzenekstrakten vaskes med vand, tørres over natriumsulfat og inddampes. Det resulterende 4-methoxy-3-butyl-2,6--dimethylbenzaldehyd renses ved adsorption på silicagel (eluerings-middel: hexan/methylenchlorid (1:1)) og kondenseres med 1-ethoxy-carbonyl-2,6-dimethylhepta-l,3,5-trien-7-triphenylphosphoniumbromid.
Det til kondensationen med 4-methoxy-3-butyl-2,6-dimethylbenzaldehyd anvendte l-ethoxycarbonyl-2,6-dimethylhepta-l,3,5-trien-7-triphenyl-phosphoniumbromid kan f.eks. fremstilles på følgende måde: 36 g 7-formyl-3-methylocta-2,4,6-trien-l-syreethylester optages i 600 ml absolut ethanol. Til den uklare opløsning sættes ved'10°C portionsvis 1,8 g natriumborhydrid, og blandingen omrøres i 2 timer ved 10eC. Reaktionsblandingen optages derefter i isvand, der tilsættes 3N saltsyre og ekstraheres med ether. Etherekstrakten vaskes med vand, med en mættet, vandig natriumhydrogencarbonatopløsning og med vand i den angivne rækkefølge, tørres og inddampes. Den resulterende 8-hydroxy-3,7-dimethylocta-2,4,6-trien-l-syreethylester kan behandles på følgende måde: 36,8 g 8-hydroxy-3,7-dimethylocta-2,4,6-trien-l-syreethylester opløses i 380 ml ether. Opløsningen afkøles til 0°C, og der tilsættes efter tilsætning af 3 dråber pyridin dråbevis en opløsning af 28,6 g phosphortribromid i 120 ml hexan. Reaktionsblandingen omrøres i 20 minutter ved 0eC, optages derefter i isvand og ekstraheres med ether. Etherekstrakten vaskes med vand, méd en mættet, vandig natriumhydro-gencarbonatopløsning og med vand i den angivne rækkefølge, tørres og inddampes. Den resulterende 8-brom-3,7-dimethylocta-2,4,6-trien-l--syreethylester kan behandles på følgende måde: 43,7 g 8-brom-3,7-dimethylocta-2,4,6-trien-l-syreethylester optages i 500 ml benzen, og der tilsættes 42,0 g triphenylphosphin. 9-(4-Methoxy-2,3,6-trimethylphenyl)-3,7-dimethyl-nona-2,4,6,8--tetraen-l-ol.
150 g 9-(4-methoxy-2,3,6-trimethylphenyl)-3,7-dimethyl-2,4,6,8--nonatetraen-l-syreethylester omrøres efter tilsætning af 800 ml toluen, indtil alt et gået i opløsning. Derefter sænkes den indvendige temperatur til -60°C ved hjælp af tøris. Til opløsningen sættes ved denne temperatur dråbevis 780 ml af en 25%'s opløsning af diisobutylaluminiumhydrid i toluen. Reaktionsblandingen omrøres i 1 time, hvorpå den opvarmes til -40°C og dråbevis tilsættes 50 ml 50%'s vandigt methanol, hvorved den indvendige temperatur lidt efter lidt stiger til +10°C. Til blandingen dryppes derefter 140 ml af en mættet vandig natriumsulfatopløsning. Man lader temperaturen stige til +25°C. Herved begynder der at udskilles aluminiumhydroxid under varmeudvikling. Suspensionen omrøres først i 30 minutter og efter tilsætning af 300 ml chloroform i yderligere nogle minutter. Bundfaldet frafiltreres efter tilsætning af et filterhjælpemiddel og vaskes 4 gange med hver gang 500 ml chloroform. De forenede filtrater vaskes med 600 ml vand, derefter 600 ml vand indeholdende 10 ml 3N saltsyre, derefter 600 ml af en mættet vandig natriumhydrogencarbonatopløsning og derefter 600 ml vand, hvorpå de tørres over vandfrit natriumsulfat og inddampes. Den krystallinske remanens optages under kraftig omrøring i 1000 ml hexan. Det gule 9-(4-methoxy-2,3,6-trimethylphenyl) -3,7-dimethyl-nona-2,4,6,8-tetraen-l-ol smelter efter vask-ning med hexan og tørring ved først 10 - 15 mm Hg, derefter 0,5 mm Hg, ved 127,5 - 129,5°C.

Overskuddet af natriumhydrid sønderdeles ved dråbevis tilsætning af 50%'s vandigt methanol. Den efter afdestillation af opløsningsmidlet vundne halvkrystallinske remanens opløses i 500 ml benzen. Fra filtratet udskilles i løbet af ca. 1 time ved 0°C i krystallinsk form methyletheren af 9—(4— -methoxy-2,3,6-trimethylphenyl)-3,7-dimethyl-nona-2,4,6,8-tetra-en-l-ol, som efter vaskning med hexan og tørring ved først 10 - 15 mm Hg og derefter 0,5 mm Hg smelter ved 67,5 - 69,5°C.
Eksempel 32.
n-Butylether af 9-(4-methoxy-2,3,6-trimethylphenyl)-3,7-nona--2,4,6,8-tetraen-l-ol.
6,0 g 9-(4-methoxy-2,3,6-trimethylphenyl)-3,7-dimethyl-nona--2,4,6,8-tetraen-l-ol opløses i 150 ml tetrahydrofuran indeholdende 28,05 g n-butyliodid. Opløsningen omrøres i 48 timer efter tilsætning af 0,92 g natriumhydrid. Overskuddet af natriumhydrid sønderdeles i kulden ved forsigtig tilsætning af methanol. Reaktionsblandingen fortyndes med 500 ml vand og ekstraheres 3 gange med hver gang 50 ml ether. Ekstrakten tørres over magnesiumsulfat, hvorpå den inddampes. Remanensen optages i 10 ml hexan. Efter tilsætning af 10 ml methanol udskilles 2,5 g udgangsmateriale (107 - 112°C), som frafiltreres. Filtratet inddampes. Den som remanens vundne gule krystallinske n-butylether af 9-(4-methoxy--2,3,6-trimethylphenyl)-3,7-dimethyl-nona-2,4,6,8-tetraen-l-ol smelter efter rensning ved adsorption på 200 g silicagel (elue-ringsmiddel ether/hexan 50:50) ved 52 - 54°C.

11. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 1, kendetegnet ved, at 1-(phenylsulfony1)methyl-4-methoxy--2,3,6-trimethylbenzen omsættes med 8-brom-3,7-dimethylocta-2,4,6-tri-en-l-syre eller med ethylesteren af denne syre.
12. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 1/ kendetegnet ved, at l-phenylsulfonyl-5-(4-methoxy-2,3,6-tri-methylphenyl)-3-methylpenta-2,4-dien omsættes med 4-brom-3-methyl-crotonsyre.
13. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 1, kendetegnet ved, at 4-methoxy-2,3,6-trimethylbenzylchlorid omsættes med 1-carboxy (eller 1-ethoxycarbonyl-)-7-phenylsulfonyl--2,6-dimethylhepta-l,3,5-trien.
14. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 1, kendetegnet ved, at l-brom-5-(4-methoxy-2,3,6-trimethyl-phenyl)-3-methylpenta-2,4-dien omsættes med 4-phenylsulfonyl-3--methylcrotonsyre eller med ethylesteren af denne syre.
