背景技术

2.引言
由于需要定期充电的膝上计算机、便携无线电话、音乐播放器、个人数字助理和其它自供电可再充电的便携/远程设备的快速增加,对于广泛可用电力的需求巨大且持续增长,尤其是在消费电子产品和商业电子产品的领域中。在许多公共场所,由于对于有线连接需要电源出口,电力可能不容易对一般公众可用。
可以使用多种已知的辐射(或远场)技术和非辐射(或近场)技术来无线传输能量或者功率。例如,使用低方向性天线(诸如用在无线电及蜂窝通信***中和家庭计算机网络中的那些)的辐射无线信息传输可被认为是无线能量传输。然而,这类辐射传输非常低效,这是因为提供的或辐射的功率仅有微小部分(即在接收器的方向中并与接收器重叠的那部分)被拾取。绝大部分功率在所有其它的方向中辐射掉并散失在自由空间中。

本发明的实施例的无线充电解决方案允许最终用户直接从其笔记本PC对其智能电话和其它设备无线充电。该独特性能基于无线共振能量链路(WREL)技术。除了笔记本PC,该解决方案还可以作为对若干个设备无线充电的普遍手段延伸到台式PC和平板PC、手写板(slate)和办公室设备。本文中实现的主要优点包括:
充电源:笔记本“是”源,用户可将设备充电器留在家;
位置灵活性:允许设备位于笔记本发射器的附近;
充电功率:为智能电话、微型投影仪以及更多的设备提供便利的功率;以及
智能软件:允许控制电池充电并提供实时反馈。

ICWS软件与诸如蓝牙无线设备250的可充电电子设备交换一组信息。该组信息在该电子设备的充电期间使用。该组信息包括但不限于无线充电设备附近或产生辐射场111之内的至少一个电子设备的存在、该至少一个电子设备的充电需求、诸如笔记本PC210的无线充电设备的充电状态以及对应于该至少一个电子设备的充电的安全信息。电感耦合器和电子设备之间的通信链路可以是双向链路。只要一定量的电力正从电感耦合器被供给电子设备,通信链路就可起作用。在本公开的实施例中,该组信息可以在与电子设备的闭环通信中交换。闭环通信允许电子设备不断调谐其输出功率特性,其输出功率特性诸如其功率需求以及在充电操作期间其在无线充电设备的无线充电区域(辐射场111)附近的存在。
图3示出根据实施例的发射天线和接收天线与其耦合的笔记本PC。所示出的无线充电设备是笔记本PC210,其可包括配置成发射无线功率的发射天线340和关联的发射器电路(未示出)以及配置成接收无线功率的可选接收天线380和关联的接收器电路(未示出)。注意,每个天线(接收天线380和发射天线340)可以以避免天线和笔记本PC210的任何金属组件之间的任何电干扰的方式耦合到笔记本PC210。
图4示出根据实施例的用于无线充电的带有QTC设计的笔记本PC截面和智能电话截面。该图提供笔记本PC210截面、QTC配置410和智能电话截面220。例如,笔记本PC截面示出10mm的线圈以及智能电话截面示出8mm的线圈。

输入/输出设备740(I/0设备)可包括一个或多个容许用户输入信息到无线充电设备210的常规输入机制和输出机制和/或用于以上机制的接口,常规输入机制诸如扩音器、触摸板、小键盘、键盘、鼠标、手写笔、触控笔、语音识别设备、按钮等等,输出机制诸如一个或多个输出信息到用户的常规机制,包括显示器、一个或多个扬声器、诸如存储器的存储介质、磁盘或光盘、盘驱动器、打印机设备等等。显示器750可通常是如用在许多常规计算设备上的LCD或CRT显示器,或任何其它类型的显示设备。
无线充电设备210可以通过执行包含在计算机可读介质(诸如例如存储器720)中的指令序列或指令集来响应于处理器730而执行功能。这样的指令可以从另一计算机可读介质(诸如存储设备)读入存储器720、或者通过通信接口从分离的设备读入存储器720、或者可以从诸如互联网的外部源下载。无线充电设备100可以是诸如个人计算机的独立无线充电设备,或者可以连接到诸如内联网、互联网等网络。
存储器720可以存储可由处理器运行来执行各种功能的指令。例如,存储器可以存储诸如IWCS功率软件780的无线充电指令,以允许无线充电设备与无线充电设备的特定无线功率策略相结合来执行各种功能。指令通常对于每个特定类型的无线充电设备是独特的,以及无线充电设备可存储多个策略,每个策略用于不同的***设备。
无线功率发射器子***770配置成在如在处理器730中实现的无线功率软件780的控制下操作,以通过电感链路将由电源(未示出)供给的功率无线传输到与图2中描述的便携电子设备相关联的无线功率接收器。可以根据如以上背景技术部分中论述的众所周知的电感耦合或共振电感耦合的原理通过电感链路实现无线功率传输。实现无线功率发射器和无线功率接收器的方式将取决于所用的电感耦合的类型。现有技术中多种基于电感耦合和共振电感耦合的发射器和接收器的设计可用,因此不需在本文中描述。
无线功率发射器子***770在一些方面包括布置成基本扁平、平面或两者组合的发射线圈和/或接收线圈。除了改善与诸如膝上计算机的更小和更平面尺寸的结构的集成以外,扁平线圈结构还可减少多余的寄生射频(RF)发射,这是因为基本扁平的线圈将在垂直于该扁平线圈的方向中具有更小的偶极矩。在一些方面,扁平线圈可以通过以下方式来制造:在保持适当的扁平几何形状的非导电衬底或电枢上形成合适匝数的磁线、实芯线、绞线、绞合线、空心铜管(产生更好的重量电导率比)。此外,可以使用制造多匝二维线圈的其它方法,包括蚀刻的导体或以其它方式图案化的导体以及通过在印刷电路板制造中使用的任何方法所制造的那些。

本公开的其它独特特征可以提供:1)可在BEON配置或BEBY配置中操作;2)可在各种频率下操作,诸如13.56MHz或6.78MHz;3)FTC或平面线圈几何形状(如有竞争力的“垫上设备(device onmats)”)在对并排配置中的电话充电时效率不足;以及4)低频率***不能使线圈几何形状适应于超薄笔记本计算机和电话。

从所述用户接收所述可选择的策略的所选择的策略的指示;以及
使用所述可选择的策略的所述所选择的策略控制对所述至少一个电子设备的无线充电。
11.根据权利要求10所述的方法,其中可选择的策略包括所述无线充电设备的至少一个组件的性能水平和无线发射功率中的至少一个。
12.根据权利要求11所述的方法,其中可选择的策略包括从由寻找可充电设备的频率和充电限制组成的组中选择的配置设置。
13.根据权利要求11所述的方法,所述方法还包括:

使用所述可选择的策略的所述所选择的策略控制对所述至少一个电子设备的无线充电。
15.根据权利要求14所述的非短暂性计算机可读介质,其中可选择的策略包括所述无线充电设备的至少一个组件的性能水平和无线发射功率中的至少一个。
16.根据权利要求15所述的非短暂性计算机可读介质,其中可选择的策略包括从由寻找可充电设备的频率和充电限制组成的组中选择的配置设置。
