Description
Glasreflektor an Lampen.
Glass reflector on lamps. The well-known fact that the light rays coming from a light source and directed onto a glass prism are reflected by the prism surfaces has already provided the stimulus for the construction of corresponding protective glasses and reflector screens. There are already reflector constructions that are provided with prismatic surfaces. Furthermore, concentric double glasses and glass rings that can be pushed one above the other are known. Clear prismatic glass is used throughout these reflectors, which emits the reflected light rays in a certain direction.
The present invention is a glass reflector on lamps, which be made of a non-crystal clear composition and is provided with prisms on at least one side.
In the drawing, for example, embodiments of the reflector according to the invention are shown.
Fig. 1 shows a first embodiment in section; Fig. 2 shows a second embodiment in section; Fig. 3 and 4 are variants of the prism design.
As shown in Fig. 1 of the drawing, the reflector 1 made of glass is bell-shaped. It is used to encase a luminous element, for example a light bulb. It is arranged on the lamp by means of a holder with adjusting screws in the axial direction of the light bulb adjustable in order to be brought into the most favorable position depending on the size or shape of the light bulb. The outside of the reflector 1 is provided with prisms 2, which have ringför shaped shape and are lined up close together. Depending on the external shape of the reflector, the course, shape and size of the prisms on the reflector can vary as desired.
For example, the reflector could also be designed cylindrical, prismatic or spherical and elliptical or oval in cross section. The prisms 2, which are arranged very advantageously on the outside of the reflector, can be either meridional or peripheral, they can also be provided on the inside or also inside and outside at the same time.
The reflector can consist of pulverized glass, or glass spheres and the like such as fine glass crystal structures, for example in a prismatic shape, can be embedded in the glass mass. The small glass bodies could have been colored blue or a different color beforehand or received a blue or mixed-colored glaze in order to create lighting similar to daylight. A weak proportion of a metal, for example silver, mercury, etc., could also be added to the glass composition so that an interrupted or loosened molecular storage is achieved, which results in a dispersion or diffusion of the light.
The reflector can also be provided with a thin, white or colored glaze on its inside or outside, which contains larger or smaller amounts of a metal (silver, mercury, etc.) in the glass mass. Glasses according to one of the aforementioned versions are not completely transparent @resp. not entirely crystal clear. The glaze can also consist of several layers of different colors placed one on top of the other. The prismatic surfaces in combination with the special glass composition mentioned above cause light to be scattered, which reduces the glare (see FIGS. 2 to 4).
The prisms can be sharp-edged or have rounded edges.
The reflector 1 can also be installed in a reflector screen or in a diffuser shell, which in turn has prismatic surfaces for the purpose of favorable distribution of the light, or the reflector 1 can be silver-plated on the outside or provided with another reflective coating the. This coating can also be sprayed on.
Finally, the reflector can be attached to a holder, which also serves as the socket for the light bulb and allows the lamp to be raised or lowered using threads or adjusting screws. This possibility of superscript or subscript is first seen for aesthetic reasons and secondly to use incandescent lamps of various shapes and diameters to uniform glass bells and so to bring the incandescent lamp in the most favorable position to the prismatic surfaces and the beam filters.
Instead of a reflector according to FIG. 1, which, due to its bulge, allows larger and smaller incandescent lamps to be used, a bell can also be used according to FIG. 2 for each lamp size and shape, which tightly encloses the mantle body.
