"LANTERNA TRASEIRA PARA VEìCULO". Embora a estrutura de uma base (101) em um exemplo comparativo mostrado na figura (b) seja simples, a porção superior da lente se torna escura uma vez que os diodos emissores de lanterna (102, 103) estão longe da lente (107), enquanto a porção inferior da lente se torna mais clara uma vez que os diodos emissores de lanterna (105, 106) estão próximos da lente (107). A claridade sobre a superfície da lente 107 é apropriada para ser não-uniforme. A figura (a) mostra a presente invenção, que é adaptada para fornecer uma claridade uniforme sobre uma lente (51) dispondo diodos emissores de lanterna (54 - 58) substancialmente em paralelo com a lente inclinada (51). A fim de realizar desse modo, a base para suportar os diodos emissores de lanterna (54 - 58) é formada na base em degraus 52, e uma superfície refletora é provida na superfície traseira da base em degraus (52).
