Abstract
"CARBURAçãO DE AçOS DE ALTA VELOCIDADE, COM BAIXO TEOR DE CARBONO, BAIXO TEOR DE CROMO". Composições de aço de alta velocidade (HSS) tendo teores menores de C e Cr do que os graus padrão de HSS para permitir a carburação usando-se técnicas convencionais. As ligas contêm menos do que 0,40% em peso de C e menos do que 2% de Cr. O baixo teor de Cr é um fator crítico na intensificação da facilidade de carburação dos presentes aços. As composições de HSS resultantes possuem dureza e resistência à fratura superiores. Mais particularmente, os aços incluem, em % em peso: 0-0,4% de C; 0,5-1,5% de Cr; 1,5-3,5% de Ni; 0,1-0,6% de Mn; 0,15-0,65% de Si; 0,03% no máximo de P; 0,03% no máximo de S; um ou mais elementos selecionados do grupo consistindo em 4,0-15,3% de Mo; 1,0-5,7% de V; até 13% de Co e até 28% de W e em que a quantidade de agregados de Cr% + Mo% + V% + W% + Co% é igual ou menor do que 35% e Fe essencialmente para equilíbrio mais impurezas incidentais.
