Inner vertical wall 25, bottom part 27, outer vertical wall 28 of longitudinal member 13, vertical wall 23 of side member and horizontal surface 4 of floor 2 form a closed box space wherein a strengthener for securing the rear suspension is mounted. The strengthener consists of top part 30 and bottom part 32 interconnected without permitting its disconnection. The bottom part of strengthener 31 is provided with a bottom surface which is connected with bottom surface 27 of longitudinal member 13. The vertical wall is coupled with floor 2 through the top flange. The top portion of strengthener 30 has bottom surface connected with the bottom surface of the bottom portion of strengthener 31.
