Abstract

Un conjunto de intercambiador termico, que se puede emplear ventajosamente como un interenfriador para un sistema de carga de aire para motores de combustion interna, incluye una pluralidad de tubos de refrigerante generalmente en forma de cuna a traves de los cuales el refrigerante se dirige para efectuar el enfriamiento de aire comprimido que fluye alrededor de los tubos. A fin de promover la operacion eficiente, cada uno de los tubos de enfriamiento en forma de cuna incluye una pluralidad de pasajes de refrigerante de diametro hidraulico substancialmente identico o area de seccion transversal, promoviendo de esta manera el flujo uniforme de refrigerante a traves de cada tubo de refrigerante. Cada tubo de refrigerante incluye paredes externas que pueden ser de un espesor substancialmente uniforme, o que pueden aumentar en espesor a traves de la anchura del tubo.
