Abstract

Se proporciona un bloque de fibra de carbono que tiene un valor grande de fineza de fibras individuales y una productividad excelente y que, a pesar de esto, contiene pocas fibras individuales entrelazadas en el mismo y que tiene una excelente capacidad de dispersión; y las fibras precursoras que son convenientes para el uso en la producción del bloque de fibra de carbono. Las fibras precursoras son un bloque de fibra acrílica precursora de fibra de carbono que comprende un copolímero de poliacrilonitrilo que comprende 95-99% molar de unidades de acrilonitrilo y 1-5% molar de unidades de (met)acrilato de hidroxialquilo, y que tiene una fineza de fibras individuales de 1.5-5.0 dtex. En el bloque de fibra acrílica, la sección transversal de cada fibra individual, que es perpendicular al eje de fibra, tiene una forma que tiene una redondez de 0.9 o menos. La redondez es un valor determinado al usar la ecuación (1) donde 5 y L son el área de sección transversal y la longitud circunferencial, respectivamente, de una fibra individual, que se obtienen mediante el análisis, con una SEM, de la sección transversal de la fibra individual que es perpendicular al eje de fibra, y al analizar la imagen obtenida.
