Abstract
본 발명은 어레이 배열된 복수의 어드레스 위치를 갖는 광전어드레스구조에 관한 것으로, 특히 어드레스위치중의 부차적인 데이터전파 또는 누화효과를 저감시키기 위한 광전표시장치 및 그 구동방법에 관한 것으로서, 다수의 데이터구동신호에 의존하는 값을 갖는 보상신호를 인가하여 어떠한 형태의 액티브매트릭스광전표시장치(10)에서도 누화를 저감한다. 바람직한 실시예에 있어서, 행어드레스기간중에 인가된 모든 데이터구동신호의 역가중 평균치와 동등한 단일의 보상신호는 데이터구동신호가 표시소자(16)에 기억된 후에 모든 데이터전극(20)에 인가될 수 있다. 이와 같은 보상신호는 종래에는 1회에 하나의 형태의 누화에 대해서만 실현가능했던 레벨까지 측누화 및 전·후누화를 동시에 저감시킨다.

제4A도 및 제4B도는 본 발명의 플라즈마어드레스된 표시장치에 의해 어드레스가능한 최대 데이터라인수를 결정하는 각종 시간적인 제약을 도시한 도면,
제5도는 행 i∼i+4의 어드레스 기간중에 각 열 k 및 k+1에 인가되는 예시적인 전압을 도시한 도면.
Claims (21)
- 열로 배열된 복수의 데어터구동전극과 행으로 배열된 복수의 데이터스트로브전극의 교점에 의해 형성되는 표시소자어레이를 갖고, 행의 표시소자는 행의 데이터스트포브전극에 인가되는 데이터스트로브신호에 응답하여 행어드레스기간중에 데이터구동전극에 인가되는 정보를 기억하고, 후속행위 표시소자는 프레임어드레스기간의 후속 행어드레스기간중에 데이터스트로브전극에 인가되는 정보를 기억하고, 프레임어드레스기간중에 각 표시소자의 일부를 통하여 2승평균전압이 누화에 의해 부차적으로 영향을 받는 광전표시장치의 구동방법에 있어서, 행어드레스기간중에 다수의 데이터구동전극에 인가되는 정보에 대응하는 보상신호전압치를 결정하고, 보상신호가 배부분의 누화를 상쇄시켜 프레임어드레스기간중에 표시소자의 일부를 통하여 공칭 평균 2승전압값을 보다 정확하게 유지하도록 보상신호를 행어드레스기간중에 데이터구동전극에 인가하는 스텝으로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 광전표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 보상신호는 행어드레스기간중에 모든 데이터 구동전극에 인가되는 정보에 대응하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광전표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 행어드레스기간은 제1및 제2단계로 분할되고, 제1단계중에 정보가 데이터구동전극에 인가되고, 제2단계중에 보상신호가 인가되는 것을 특징으로 하는 광전표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 보상신호의 인가스텝은 단일의 보상신호를 모든 데이터구동전극에 인가하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광전표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 보상신호결정스텝은 데이터구동전극의 행어드레스기간중에 데이터구동전극에 인가되는 모든 정보의 역가중평균치를 결정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광전표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제5항에 있어서, 역가중평균치의 결정스텝은 아날로그형태의 합산회로에 의해 행하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광전표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제5항에 있어서, 역가중평균치의 결정스텝은 디지탈계산에 의해 행하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광전표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 광전표시장치는 액정형의 액티브매트릭스표시장치로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 광전표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제8항에 있어서, 광전표시장치는 플라즈마어드레스된 액정형인 것을 특징으로 하는 광전표시장치의 구동방법.
- 열로 배열된 복수의 데어터구동전극과 행으로 배열된 복수의 데이터스트로브전극의 교점에 의해 형성되는 표시소자어레이를 갖고, 행의 표시소자는 행의 데이터스트포브전극에 인가되는 데이터스트로브신호에 응답하여 행어드레스기간중에 데이터구동전극에 인가되는 정보를 기억하고, 후속행위 표시소자는 프레임어드레스기간의 후속 행어드레스기간중에 데이터스트로브전극에 인가되는 정보를 기억하고, 프레임어드레스기간중에 각 표시소자의 일부를 통하여 2승평균전압이 누화에 의해 부차적으로 영향을 받는 광전표시장치의 구동방법에 있어서,데이터구동전극에 정보를 인가하고, 인가된 정보를 행의 표시소자의 데이터구동전극에 기억하고, 데이터구동전극으로부터 정보를 소거하고, 보상신호에 의해 누화를 저감시키도록 데이터구동전극에 인가된 정보의 가중평균치에 대응하는 전압치를 갖는 보상신호를 모든 데이터구동전극에 대체시키는 스텝으로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 광전표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제10항에 있어서, 보상신호의 대체스텝은 아날로그합산회로를 이용하여 보상전압치를 결정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광전표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제10항에 있어서, 보상신호의 인가스텝은 디지탈계산을 이용하여 보상전압치를 결정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광전표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제10항에 있어서, 광전표시장치는 액정형의 액티브매트릭스표시장치로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 광전표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제13항에 있어서, 액티브매트릭스표시장치는 플라즈마어드레스된 액정형인 것을 특징으로 하는 광전표시장치의 구동방법.
- 어레이내의 어드레스위치에 배열된 복수의 표시소자의 각각에 데이터구동전극에 데이터구동신호를 어드레스 및 전송하는 어드레스구조와, 어드레스기간중에 어레이내의 복수의 어드세르위치에 데이터구동신호를 전송하는 데이터드라이버를 갖고, 상기 표시소자는 이 표시소자중에 부차적인 데이터성분을 전송하는 부차적인 전기결합을 갖는 광전표시장치에 있어서, 다수의 데이터구동신호로부터 결정된 전압치를 갖는 보상신호를 데이더구동전극에 인가하는 보상신호드라이버로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 광전표시장치.
- 제15항에 있어서, 행어드레스기간은 제1 및 제2단계로 분할되고, 제1단계중에 정보가 데이터구동전극에 인가되고, 제2단계중에 보상신호가 인가되는 것을 특징으로 하는 광전표시장치.
- 제15항에 있어서, 보상신호는 행어드레스기간중에 데이터구동전극에 인가되는 모든 데이터구동신호에 의해 결정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 광전표시장치.
- 제15항에 있어서, 보상신호를 모든 데이터구동신호의 역가중평균치에 의해 결정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 광전표시장치.
- 제15항에 있어서, 단일의 보상신호가 모든 데이터구동전극에 인가되는 것을 특징으로 하는 광전표시장치.
- 제15항에 있어서, 광전표시장치는 액정형의 액티브매트릭스표시장치로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 광전표시장치.
