Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a phosphor good in the color rendering and excellent in the visibility, which has a specified compositional formula wherein trivalent Eu is substituted as an activator for part of Y.
CONSTITUTION: Specified quantities of Y2O3, In2O3, Ga2O3 and Eu2O3 are blended, mixed in a dry state, and calcined at 1,300W1,550°C for 2W20hr in an oxidizing atmosphere to produce a phosphor which has a compositional formula of 3Ga2O3.2In2O3.3Y2O3: Eu3+ wherein trivalent Eu is substituted as an activator for part of Y.
EFFECT: This phosphor, when excited by an ultraviolet ray, electronic beams, etc., has a fluorescent peak near 595nm as well as near 610nm.
