Abstract
PURPOSE: To produce a divalent Eu-activated blue fluorescent substance with high radiation effeciency and high luminance under excitation using ultaraviolet-, cathode-, or X-rays by mixing MgO, BaO, Al2O3, and Eu2O3 or their precursors in a specified ratio ; adding a limited amount of alkali metal halides to the mixture ; and calcining the mixture in two steps.
