Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a phosphor compsn. which exhibits sufficient color rendering and has good luminous efficiency, by a method wherein specified four kinds of phosphors are mixed together.
CONSTITUTION: (A) Sr10(PO4)6Cl2:Eu or BaMg2Al16O27:Eu, (B) (Ce,Tb) MgAl11O19 or Y2SiO5:Tb, (C) Y2Sn2O7:Eu and (D) Y2O3:Eu are mixed together in such a proportion as to give a mixing ratio of (A)=0.08W0.14, (B)=0.44W0.50, (C)=0.04W0.43, (D)=0.04W0.45 and the sum of (A)+(B)+(C)+(D) of 1.00 at a color temp. of 4,200°K, where said mixing ratio is represented by the spectral band intensity of each phosphor when the spectral band intensity of each phosphor, which is obtd. by applying to each of the phosphors (A), (B), (C) and (D) the same UV dose as that which is applied to the mixed compsn., is set equal to unity.
EFFECT: There is obtd. a phosphor which exhibits approximately the same color rendering as conventional phosphors and in which its luminous efficiency is 96W 86lm/W (100hr lighting).
