【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、自動車の外部ミラ
ーのためのキャップに関する。
【０００２】
【従来の技術】この種のキャップは、例えば、ドイツ国
実用新案出願第Ｇ8914759.6号で公知であり、バックミ
ラーが固定される安定なホルダに、嵌め込まれるのに役
立つ。
【０００３】ドイツ国実用新案出願第Ｇ9409566.3号で
は、このキャップを透明にすることが提案されている。
さらに、自動車の外部ミラーには、発光ダイオードまた
は光を反射する材料をもつ照明装置が設けられている。
これによって、停止および走行している自動車,特に相
前後して走行する複数の自動車を夫々の位置に外部から
決定することができるといわれている。このような装置
は、比較的高価であるとともに、電気的に調整できるミ
ラーガラスをもつ最新の外部ミラーにおいて、キャップ
とホルダとバックミラーによって囲まれる空間内に、上
記照明装置を入れる余裕が殆ど無いのである。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】本発明は、上述の問題
に対して、自動車の位置を簡単な手段でもって第三者に
一層容易に認識させるという課題を基礎にしている。

【発明の構成、作用、効果】そこで、本発明では、上記
キャップに光を反射する材料を被覆した。本発明は、自
動車の外部ミラーに本発明のキャップを装備することに
よって、自動車が暗い車体の塗装にも拘わらず夜間でも
他の自動車の前照灯によって照らされたときに容易に認
識できるようにして、道路交通の安全性を高めるもので
ある。このことは、駐車灯が点灯されていない自動車が
暗闇に停車している場合、特に有効である。
【０００６】本発明のより好ましい実施の形態では、ミ
ラーケース全体に光を反射するラッカー層または蛍光を
発するラッカー層を設けることができ、その結果、自動
車は、前面からのみでなく側面からも、ミラーガラスを
包み込むミラーケース部分によって容易に認識できる。
【０００７】本発明の択一的な実施の形態では、ミラー
ケースの材料に１つまたは多数のミラー切り子面を嵌め
込み、各ミラー切り子面には、三面ミラーの形態の構造
が与えられている。そうすると、各三面ミラー面は、例
えば尾灯で知られているように、反射鏡として作用す
る。
【０００８】ところで、本発明のより好ましい実施の形
態は、下位の請求項に述べられている。

【発明の実施の形態】以下、本発明を図示の実施の形態
によって詳細に説明する。図１は、車の走行方向から見
た平面図でキャップ１を示しており、このキャップは、
凸な主外面２とこれを取り囲む縁３を備えている。上記
キャップ１は、キャップ１の内側に形成されたストップ
フィンガを介して自動車の外部ミラーのホルダ板に取り
付けられて、外部ミラーのミラーケースを完全なものに
するようになっている。キャップ１の偶部の切欠き４
は、図示しないミラー脚に被せることを考慮したもの
で、自動車の外部ミラーは、上記ミラー脚によって自動
車の車体に固定されうる。
【００１０】硬質の合成樹脂からなり,自動車の車体塗
装に調和して塗装されたキャップ１は、光を反射するラ
ッカーからなるＶ字状のストライプ１０を主外面２上に
有し、このストライプは、キャップ１の主外面２の全幅
に亘って延びるとともに、矢印の先端によって、切欠き
４,従って自動車から離れる方向を指し示している。ス
トライプ１０の光を反射するラッカーは、キャップの色
に維持できるが、多数の光を反射する小さなペレットを
含むことができる。
【００１１】本発明の他の実施の形態では、主外面２の
全体に亘って平坦な層および光を反射するラッカーをも
つ縁３が、考慮に値する。この実施の形態は、光の反射
の面積が大きくなるという利点のみならず、夜間に自動
車を側方から見たとき、キャップが、側方の外縁域５で
認識されることができ、それ故、例えば停車した自動車
のための側方の顕著な目印を形成することも可能ならし
める。これと択一的に、主外面２および必要な場合は縁
３またはストライプ１０のために蛍光を発するラッカー
層を用いることが考慮に値する。
【００１２】本発明の他の実施の形態では、ミラーキャ
ップ３０は、全反射体として実施する、即ち(例えばポ
リカーボネート,ポリメチルメタクリレート,透明ポリア
ミドなどの)対応する透明な合成樹脂を投入してミラー
キャップの形態と作用をもつ反射鏡として形成されるこ
とができる。対応する押出しダイによって、上記キャッ
プは、キャスティングにより製造される。反射体要素の
この実施の形態は、今日普通の合成樹脂の反射鏡に類似
している。図３に示すように互いに直交する３つの反射
面２１,２２,２３を呈する多数の小さな三面ミラーが、
透明なミラーキャップ３０の内壁１５に隣接して並ん
で、内面全体を覆っている。キャップ３０の内面７の拡
大図では、互いに直交する部分面１１,１２,１３からな
る三面ミラー６の全面に亘る相互の並び８が、認識され
得る。この三面ミラーの非常に平滑な表面によって、所
望の反射挙動を達成できる。加えて、この三面ミラーの
外面は、番号２４で示すように、さらに金属の被膜を被
せることができ、これによって反射特性がさらに改善さ
れる。被膜として、例えば電気めっき法によるクロムま
たは蒸着法によるアルミニウムなどを被覆することがで
きる。
【００１３】この種の被膜は、キャップ１の外面２上に
全面に亘って被覆することも、キャップ３０の外面上に
１つの小さな丸い反射体を被覆することによって部分的
のみに被覆することもできる。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 自動車の外部ミラーのためのキャップに
    おいて、 上記キャップ(1,30)上に光を反射する媒体(6,7,8,10)が
    被覆されていることを特徴とするキャップ。
  2. 【請求項２】 請求項１に記載のキャップにおいて、上
    記光を反射する媒体は、光を反射するラッカーであるこ
    とを特徴とするキャップ。
  3. 【請求項３】 請求項１に記載のキャップにおいて、上
    記光を反射する媒体は、蛍光を発するラッカーであるこ
    とを特徴とするキャップ。
  4. 【請求項４】 請求項１乃至３のいずれか１つに記載の
    キャップにおいて、上記光を反射する媒体は、上記キャ
    ップ(1)の外面(2)上にストライプ状(10)に被覆されてい
    ることを特徴とするキャップ。
  5. 【請求項５】 請求項１乃至４のいずれか１つに記載の
    キャップにおいて、上記光を反射する媒体は、透明なキ
    ャップ(30)の内面に全面的(8)または個々の領域(7)にモ
    ールドされた反射鏡であることを特徴とするキャップ。
  6. 【請求項６】 請求項５に記載のキャップにおいて、上
    記反射鏡の反射面は、三面ミラー(6,8)として実施され
    ていることを特徴とするキャップ。
  7. 【請求項７】 請求項５また６に記載のキャップにおい
    て、上記反射鏡の反射面は、金属膜(24)を備えることを
    特徴とするキャップ。
