Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は、常態で粘着性かよび感圧性接着剤組成物並び
にこれらから製造された感圧接着テープに関する。本発
明は、初期釦よび長期間にわたって接触させた後の両者
で可塑化ビニル基材に強固に接着することができる感圧
接着剤製品に特に関する。
ポリビニルクロライド(または、これは「ビニル」とさ
らに一般的に呼ばれている)は、現在入手できる合成ポ
リマーの中で最も融通性がラb1かつ、広く使用されて
いるポリマーの一つである。
未変性形態に訃いて、ポリビニルクロライドは、硬質で
あシ、かつ、容器、構造部材、チューブなどに二次加工
できる。可塑剤を配合したときは、これは感圧接着剤組
成物pよびこれから製造された感圧接着テープとして使
用できる可撓性シ一ト物質にカレンダー掛けすることが
できる。本発明は、初期pよび長期間にわたって接触さ
せた後の両者で可塑化ビニル基材に強固に接着すること
ができる感圧接着剤に特に関する。
ポリビニルクロライド(曾たは、これはさらに一般的に
「ビニル」と呼ばれる)は、現在入手できる合成ポリマ
ーのうちで最も融通性があシ、かつ、広く使用されてい
るポリマーの一つである。
未変性形態に訃いては、ポリビニルクロライドは硬質で
あシ、かつ容器、構造部材、チーデなどに二次加工でき
る.可塑剤を配合したときは、カレンダー掛けして可撓
性シ一ト物質にして室内装飾材料、床張シ、感圧接着テ
ープパッキング、レインウエアなどに使用でき、または
押出して電気絶縁体、自動車々体側画成形物などに使用
できる。
可塑化ビニルは、モノマーまたはポリマー可塑剤のいず
れかを15〜50重′JIk%含有する;モノマー可塑
剤の方が安価なため、これらが普通に使用される。しか
し、残念ながら、モノマー可塑剤は比較的低分子量であ
う,可塑化ビニルの表面に移行するのみならず、表面か
ら揮発し、元の可撓性生戒物を脆くする傾向がある。
可塑剤がそれと接触する物質中に移行する傾向も周知で
ある、例えばU.S.P. I64,2 8 4,6 
8 1を参照されたい。すなわち、感圧接着剤を可塑化
♂ニル基材に適用し、これと長期間接触した11で置く
と、ビニルからの可塑剤が感圧接着剤中に移行し、これ
を軟化させて接着力を低下させる;例えばtT.x.p

ビニルと感圧接着剤間に不透過性障壁を配置することに
よる可塑剤移行問題を解決しようとする試みを行なわれ
た;例えば、TI.8.P.鷹4,045,600釦よ
び4.6 0 5,5 9 2を参照されたい。他には
可塑剤による弱化に比較的感受性が少ないと言われてい
る感圧接着剤も開発されている:例えばGranz1a

頁を参照されたい.可塑化ビニルに接着させるために広
く使用されている商用として入手できるテープは、2−
エチルへキシルアクリレート、ビニルアセテートかよび
エチルアクリレートのターポリマーである感圧接着剤を
使用している。
可塑化ビニル基材から向かい合っている感圧接着剤中へ
の可塑剤の移行を防止するための他の試みは、感圧接着
剤中にも可塑剤を配合し、それによって両接触層間の可
塑剤勾配を最小にする方法であった:例えばU.S.P

,753,846には、30〜70重量優のビニルエス
テル捷たぱアルケン酸、10〜30重量傅のエチレン、
20〜4 0i1tlDジ− 2−エチルへキシルマレ
エートまたはゾーn−オクチルマレエートもしくは7マ
レートかよび1〜10重量鋒のモノカルボン酸から戒る
可塑化ビニルへの適用が好適な接着剤組成物が開示され
ている。
前項に論議した種類の生成物によっては限られた成果し
か得られないため、特に可塑化ビニルに対して強い初期
接着性を有するのみならず、これと長期間接触させた後
でも高度の接着力を保留しているさらに有効な感圧接着
剤に対する強い市場要望が残されている。

Claims (3)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. (1)可塑化ビニル基材に対して顕著な接着能力を有し
    、かつ該基材と長期間接触させて置いた後でも強固に接
    着したままである光重合性感圧接着剤であつて、 (a)アルキル基が約4〜14個の炭素原子を含有する
    非第三アルコールのアクリル酸エステル、約60〜約9
    5重量部、およびモノ−エチレン状不飽和極性、共重合
    性モノマー、約15〜約40重量部から成るモノマーの
    アクリルコポリマー、 (b)該アクリルコポリマーの重量に基づいて、10〜
    30重量部のエチレンビニルアセテートコポリマーまた
    はその混合物、および (c)該アクリルコポリマーの重量に基づいて、約0.
    1〜約1重量部の光開始剤 から成ることを特徴とする前記の接着剤。
  2. (2)前記のエチレンビニルアセテートコポリマーが約
    40〜約70%のビニルアセテートを含有し、前記のア
    クリル酸エステルがイソオクチルアクリレートであり、
    そして前記の極性モノマーが窒素含有ビニルモノマーま
    たは強い極性のモノマーである請求項1の接着剤。
  3. (3)シートバッキングに支持された請求項1の接着剤
    の層から成る感圧接着テープ。
