Description
従来の独立気泡押出ポリスチレンフォームパッケージよりも、環境に優しい使い捨ての食品パッケージおよび容器が求められている。通常、完全にプラスチックで作られたパッケージは、400年以内に、またはあるとしても生分解せず、一部の規制により、そのようなパッケージおよび容器の使用が禁止されている。
(a)(i)水系ポリマー、(ii)約80℃~約110℃の初期膨張可能温度範囲および約50℃~約150℃の最大膨張可能温度範囲を有する複数の膨張性微小球、および(iii)任意に添加剤を含む組成物を調製すること、
(b)組成物を誘電加熱にさらすことを含み、
これにより、組成物中の複数の膨張性微小球が膨張し、組成物が融合する。

本発明は、複数の微小球を発泡させ、発泡微小球に水性組成物を融合および固定する方法を提供する。水性組成物は、ポリマーと複数の微小球を含み、セルロース基材に塗布されてパッケージを形成する。膨張して所定の位置に固定されると、発泡微小球の空隙により、パッケージの断熱性と構造的完全性が確保される。このパッケージは、従来の押出ポリスチレンフォームパッケージよりも環境に優しい。
(a)(i)水系ポリマー、(ii)約80℃~約110℃の初期膨張可能温度範囲および約50℃~約150℃の最大膨張可能温度範囲を有する複数の膨張性微小球、および(iii)任意に添加剤を含む組成物を調製すること、および
(b)組成物を誘電加熱にさらすことを含み、
これにより、組成物中の複数の膨張性微小球が膨張し組成物が融合する方法に関する。

樹脂エマルジョン3組成物を含む組成物4を、湿潤状態で、一連のドットパターンで紙基材(20ポンドおよび24ポンド紙、Golden Kraft)に塗布した。各基材は、従来の加熱、マイクロ波またはRF誘電加熱(40MHzおよび55~62アンペア)で活性化された。コーティングの初期深さと活性化後の最終深さを表3に記録した。活性化直後の湿潤パーセントを、コーティングの非膨張セグメントの量を計算することにより視覚的に測定した。
速度処理能力を理解するために、第1の基材上に組成物4(樹脂エマルジョン3)をコーティングすることによりパッケージを形成し、第1の基材の上に第2の基材を配置した。次に、パッケージを周囲温度(約72°F~約90°Fの範囲)で1、2、または5分未満外に置いてから、40MHzおよび55~62アンペアのRFで活性化した。
Claims (11)
- 発泡性組成物を発泡させる方法であって、
(a)(i)水中の水系ポリマー、(ii)80℃~110℃の初期膨張可能温度範囲および90℃~150℃の最大膨張可能温度範囲を有する複数の膨張性微小球、および(iii)任意に添加剤を含む発泡性組成物を調製すること、および
(b)発泡性組成物を誘電加熱にさらすことを含み、
誘電加熱が、1分未満で完了し、300MHz未満の周波数で実施される無線周波数加熱であり、
これにより、発泡性組成物中の複数の膨張性微小球が膨張し、
発泡した組成物が、0.125~0.135インチの厚みである方法。 - 水系ポリマーが、デンプン、酢酸ビニルエチレン分散液、ポリ酢酸ビニル、ポリ酢酸ビニルポリビニルアルコール、デキストリン安定化ポリ酢酸ビニル、ポリ酢酸ビニルコポリマー、酢酸ビニル-エチレンコポリマー、ビニルアクリル、スチレンアクリル、アクリル、スチレンブチルゴム、ポリウレタンおよびそれらの混合物からなる群から選択されるエマルジョン系ポリマーからなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 発泡性組成物が、多価水溶性塩である促進剤をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 促進剤が、硝酸アルミニウム、酢酸ジルコニウム、炭酸ジルコニルアンモニウムおよびそれらの混合物からなる群から選択される、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 無線周波数加熱が、13、27または40MHzの範囲で実施される、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 基材および発泡した組成物を含む物品を形成する方法であって、
(a)(i)水中の水系ポリマー、(ii)80℃~110℃の初期膨張可能温度範囲および90℃~150℃の最大膨張可能温度範囲を有する複数の膨張性微小球、および(iii)任意に添加剤を含む発泡性組成物を調製する工程、
(b)発泡性組成物を第1の基材に塗布する工程、
(c)任意に、発泡性組成物上に第2の基材を適用し、それにより組成物が2つの基材の間に挟まれた物品を形成する工程、
(d)物品に誘電加熱を適用する工程を含み、
誘電加熱が、1分未満で完了し、300MHz未満の周波数で実施される無線周波数加熱であり、
これにより、組成物中の複数の膨張性微小球が膨張し、
基材上に形成された発泡した組成物が、0.125~0.135インチの厚みであり、基材が10%未満のしわを有する方法。 - 第1の基材および第2の基材が、繊維板、段ボール、固体漂白板、クラフト紙またはコート紙から独立して選択されるセルロース基材である、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 発泡性組成物組成物が、一連のドット、ストライプ、ウェーブ、市松模様、または実質的に平坦な基部を有する多面体形状であるパターンで塗布される、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 第1の基材と第2の基材との間に、ホットメルト接着剤である接着剤を塗布するステップをさらに含む、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 無線周波数加熱が、13、27または40MHzの範囲で実施される、請求項6に記載の方法。
