Description
回路基板には、垂直型コネクタと水平型コネクタのいずれにおいても、端子金具の一端が挿入される接続孔が設けられ、かつ取付部と対応する位置に固定孔が設けられている。
前記各端子金具の前記接続孔への挿入部位は、行方向及び列方向に複数整列して配置されることによって端子群を構成しており、前記取付部の前記固定孔への取付部位は、前記行方向に関しては、前記端子群を間に挟んだ行方向両側において行方向に沿った軸線上に対をなして配置され、前記列方向に関しては、前記軸線が前記端子群を列方向の中央部を通過するように設定され、さらに、前記水平型コネクタにおいては、前記取付部が、前記各端子金具のうち前記フード部の奥壁から外側に突出する部位を間に挟んだ行方向両側に対をなして配置され、前記各端子金具を行方向両側から覆うように形成されているところに特徴を有する。
さらに、取付部における固定孔への取付部位を端子群の列方向中央部に配置したため、固定孔に取付部を取り付けた状態で、列方向一端に位置する接続孔への端子金具の半田接続作業を行っているときに、列方向他端に位置する接続孔に挿入された端子金具に対して前記半田接続作業に伴う過大な応力が作用するのを防止でき、列方向両端で半田接続作業の良好性を担保できる。さらにまた、各端子金具の露出部分は取付部によって行方向両側から覆われているため異物と干渉して変形されるのを防止できる。
基板用コネクタを回路基板90に取り付けるには、周辺部品との干渉を回避可能であるか否か等の点を考慮しつつ、水平型コネクタ10Aと垂直型コネクタ10Bのうちのいずれか一方を選択する。
かくして水平型コネクタ10Aは、回路基板90に水平姿勢で横向きに固定される。
水平型コネクタ10Aと垂直型コネクタ10Bでは、互いに、各基板接続部35A,35Bと各取付穴16A,16Bが同じ位置に配列して構成されているから、回路基板90における各接続孔91と各固定孔92も同じ位置に配列されることとなり、両コネクタ10A,10Bで一種類の回路基板90を共用することができる。これにより、回路基板90の汎用性が高まり、コスト高となるのを抑えることができる。
本発明は上記記述及び図面によって説明した実施形態に限定されるものではなく、例えば次のような実施形態も本発明の技術的範囲に含まれる。なお、以下に示す形態は、水平型コネクタと垂直型コネクタのいずれにも適用可能である。
(1)取付部は、弾性撓み可能な脚片として構成され、回路基板の固定孔の裏面側開口縁に弾性的に係止されることで回路基板に取り付けられる形態であってもよい。
(2)取付部にねじを貫通させてナットで締め付けるようにしてもよい。
(3)取付穴は取付部を貫通して形成されていてもよい。
(4)端子金具は回路基板の接続孔の内面に形成された接点部に圧接されるプレスフィット端子として構成されてもよい。
(5)端子金具は装着孔に対して前方から挿入されてもよい。
(6)端子金具はフード部の奥壁にインサートによって装着されてもよい。
(7)端子金具はフード部の奥壁に対して高さ方向に一段(列方向では一列)または3段(列方向では3列)以上装着されてもよい。
(8)本発明は、大型の端子金具と小型の端子金具とを混在させたハイブリッドタイプの基板用コネクタに適用可能である。

Claims (1)
- 相手側コネクタを嵌合可能なフード部と、前記フード部の奥壁に貫通して装着されるとともに前記奥壁から外側に突出して回路基板に貫通して形成された接続孔に挿入される複数の端子金具と、前記回路基板の固定孔に適合して取り付けられる取付部とを備えて、前記回路基板に対して選択的に装着される二種類のコネクタとからなり、
前記二種類のコネクタは、
前記相手側コネクタとの嵌合方向を前記回路基板の板面方向と平行な方向に向けた状態で前記回路基板に取り付けられる水平型コネクタと、
前記相手側コネクタとの嵌合方向を前記回路基板の板面方向と直角な方向に向けた状態で前記回路基板に取り付けられる垂直型コネクタとからなり、
前記水平型コネクタと前記垂直型コネクタは、互いに、前記各端子金具の前記接続孔への挿入部位と前記取付部の前記固定孔への取付部位とを各々同じ位置に配列して構成される一方、
前記取付部は前記フード部の外側に張り出して形成され、
前記各端子金具の前記接続孔への挿入部位は、行方向及び列方向に複数整列して配置されることによって端子群を構成しており、
前記取付部の前記固定孔への取付部位は、
前記行方向に関しては、前記端子群を間に挟んだ行方向両側において行方向に沿った軸線上に対をなして配置され、
前記列方向に関しては、前記軸線が前記端子群を列方向の中央部を通過するように設定され、
さらに、前記水平型コネクタにおいては、前記取付部が、前記各端子金具のうち前記フード部の奥壁から外側に突出する部位を間に挟んだ行方向両側に対をなして配置され、前記各端子金具を行方向両側から覆うように形成されていることを特徴とする基板用コネクタ。
