Claims (3)
- 液晶層を挟んで対向する光入射側基板及び光出射側基板と、前記光入射側基板及び光出射側基板を挟んで対向し、偏光軸が相互に直交する光入射側偏光板及び光出射側偏光板とを有するIPS型液晶表示装置において、
前記光入射側基板上に互いに隣接して形成された絶縁層が、該絶縁層よりも屈折率が小さな2つの層に挟まれており、
前記絶縁層はSiNxで形成され、
前記絶縁層の厚みをd(nm)、kを0,1,2のいずれかの整数として、下記式:
d=(100+170×k)±30
が成立することを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記光入射側偏光板が、光入射側から見て順次に第1の保護層、偏光子及び第2の保護層から成り、前記第2の保護層は、厚さ方向の光軸を持ち且つ厚みに応じたリタデーションを有しており、
前記第2の保護層の厚みt(μm)が、
0<t≦57
の範囲にある、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記光入射側偏光板が、光入射側から見て順次に第1の保護層、偏光子及び第2の保護層から成り、前記第2の保護層は、厚さ方向の光軸を持ち且つ厚みに応じたリタデーションを有しており、
前記第2保護層の面内リタデーションが0よりも大きく4.5nm以下であり、厚さ方向のリタデーションが0よりも大きく45nm以下である、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
