Description
Claims (15)
- ウインドスクリーン(21)を有する自動車両(20)の歩行者エアバッグ装置であって、前記装置は、膨張ガスを受けるための可膨張容積を有するエアバッグ(1)を備えるとともに、前記エアバッグ(1)の前記可膨張容積が、前記エアバッグの展開時に前記ウインドスクリーン(21)の少なくとも一部上にわたって、または前記ウインドスクリーン(21)の少なくとも一部を横切って延びるように膨張するべく構成される主チャンバ(5)と、複数の副チャンバ(18)とを備え、前記副チャンバ(18)のそれぞれが、前記エアバッグの展開時に、前記主チャンバ(5)と前記ウインドスクリーン(21)との間でそれぞれの展開位置をとり、それにより、前記主チャンバ(5)を前記ウインドスクリーン(21)から離間させるように膨張するべく構成されることを特徴とする歩行者エアバッグ装置。
- 前記副チャンバ(18)の展開位置は、前記車両(20)を横切る横方向で互いに離間される請求項1に記載の歩行者エアバッグ装置。
- 前記主チャンバ(5)および前記各副チャンバ(18)が可撓性材料(2,3,10,11,12)から形成され、前記各副チャンバ(18)を形成する材料(10,11,12)が前記主チャンバ(5)を形成する材料(3)に接続される請求項1または2に記載の歩行者エアバッグ装置。
- 前記可撓性材料(2,3,10,11,12)が基布であり、前記各副チャンバ(18)を形成する基布(10,11,12)が前記主チャンバ(5)を形成する基布(3)に対して縫い合わされる請求項3に記載の歩行者エアバッグ装置。
- 前記副チャンバ(18)が前記主チャンバ(5)と一体に形成される請求項1または2に記載の歩行者エアバッグ装置。
- 前記エアバッグが基布材料から形成され、前記副チャンバ(18)と前記主チャンバ(5)とが袋織り技術によって一体に形成される請求項5に記載の歩行者エアバッグ装置。
- 前記各副チャンバ(18)が前記主チャンバ(5)と流体連通(9)状態で設けられる請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載の歩行者エアバッグ装置。
- 作動時に所定量の膨張ガス(24)を前記主チャンバ(5)内へと方向付けるようになっているインフレータ(22)を更に備え、前記各副チャンバ(18)は、前記主チャンバ(5)からの前記膨張ガス(25)の流れによって膨張するようになっている請求項7に記載の歩行者エアバッグ装置。
- 前記各副チャンバ(18)の可膨張容積が前記主チャンバ(5)の可膨張容積よりも小さい請求項1から8のいずれかに記載の歩行者エアバッグ装置。
- 前記副チャンバ(18)の全体の可膨張容積が前記主チャンバ(5)の可膨張容積よりも小さい請求項1から9のいずれかに記載の歩行者エアバッグ装置。
- 前記主チャンバ(5)および前記各副チャンバ(18)が膨張時にほぼ長尺な形態を有し、前記各副チャンバ(18)の展開位置が前記主チャンバ(5)の膨張位置に対してほぼ直交する請求項1から10のいずれかに記載の歩行者エアバッグ装置。
- 前記主チャンバ(5)が膨張時にほぼ長尺な弓形の形態を有し、前記各副チャンバ(18)が膨張時にほぼ長尺形態を有し、前記副チャンバ(18)の展開位置はそれぞれ、前記主チャンバ(5)の対応する隣接領域に対してほぼ直交する請求項1から10のいずれか一項に記載の歩行者エアバッグ装置。
- 前記各副チャンバ(18)は、そのほぼ全長にわたって前記主チャンバ(5)に接続される請求項11または12に記載の歩行者エアバッグ装置。
- 前記各副チャンバ(18)は、それが前記車両(20)の前記ウインドスクリーン(21)へと向かう湾曲した外表面を与える膨張形態を有する請求項1から13のいずれかに記載の歩行者エアバッグ装置。
- 前記主チャンバ(5)は、互いに流体連通(30)する複数の可膨張セル(28,29)へと分割され、前記各副チャンバ(18)が前記セルのうちの少なくとも1つ(29)と流体連通(9)状態で設けられる請求項1から14のいずれかに記載の歩行者エアバッグ装置。
