Abstract
【解決手段】Siを含むSi−金属合金を含む負極活物質であって、前記SiはSi−金属合金内に66at%以下で存在し、前記Siの少なくとも一部が結晶質Siである。前記負極活物質は高容量の電池を提供しながらも、充放電過程においても容積の膨張が少なく高容量を維持することができ、寿命特性が優秀である。前記負極活物質は30nm以下の結晶粒の大きさを有する結晶質Siを含むSi−金属合金を含んでもよい。

Description
本発明の一実施例において、本発明で負極活物質を製造するための原材料は、負極活物質材料に必要な構成割合を具現することができればその形態は特に限られない。例えば、負極活物質を構成する元素を望みの造成費で混合するために元素、合金、固溶体、金属間化合物などを利用してもよいが、本発明はこれに限られない。
本発明の実施例による負極活物質はシリコン、ニッケル、チタンなど、合金しようとする金属粉末を造成によって秤量して混合した後、真空誘導溶解炉を介してSi−含有合金が製造された。真空誘導溶解炉は、高周波誘導を介して溶融温度が高温である金属を溶解し得る装備である。初期溶融段階において、真空誘導溶融溶解炉の内部を真空状態にした後、Arのような不活性ガスを真空誘導溶融溶解炉に注入し、製造された合金の酸化を防止又は減らすことができる。
本発明による負極は、該当分野で知られている通常的な方法で製造し得る。例えば、本発明の負極活物質にバインダ、溶媒、必要に応じて導電材、分散剤を混合及び攪拌してスラリを製造した後、これを金属材料の集電体に塗布して圧縮した後負極を製造し得る。
本発明による二次電池の正極に使用可能な正極活物質としてはリチウム含有遷移金属酸化物があり、具体的には、LiCoO2,LiNiO2,LiMnO2,LiMn2O4,Li(NiaCobMnc)O2(0<a<1,0<b<1,0<c<1,a+b+c=2),LiNi1−yCoyO2,LiCo1−yMnyO2,LiNi1−yMnyO2(ここで、0=y<1),Li(NiaCobMnc)O4(0<a<2,0<b<2,0<c<2,a+b+c=2),LiMn2−zNizO4,LiMn2−zCozO4(ここで、0<z<2),LiCoPO4及びLiFePO4で形成される群から選択される一種以上を使用してもよい。
本発明の二次電池は、本発明の負極活物質を使用して製造した負極を含んで該当技術分野で知られている通常的な方法で製造することができる。例えば、正極と負極の間に多孔性の分離膜を入れ、電解液を投入して製造し得る。二次電池はリチウムイオン二次電池、リチウムポリマ二次電池又はリチウムイオンポリマ二次電池などを含む。
一実施例において、前記分離膜は正極と負極の間に介在され、高いイオン透過度と機械的強度を有する絶縁性の薄膜が使用される。
前記リチウム含有非水電解質は非水電解質とリチウム塩で形成されている。
製造例1
Si:Ti:Niを66:17:17の原子量比で混合した後、真空誘導溶解炉(Yein Tech.,Korea)に投入し、真空ポンプを介して内部を真空状態にした後、不活性ガスであるArを注入した。高周波印加装置の出力8kW以内で印加時間5分内に合金が溶融されることを肉眼で観察し、母合金を製造した。前記高周波に誘導溶融された母合金を回転するホイールに噴射し、リボン状のSi−66at%の合金(Si 50.57864;Ti 22.20158;Ni 27.21978)を製造した。
Si:Ti:Niを65:17.5:17.5の原子量比で混合したことを除いては、実施例1と同じ方法でSi−65at%のSi−金属合金(Si 49.47232;Ti 22.69858;Ni 27.82911)を製造した。
Si:Ti:Niを60:20:20の原子量比で混合したことを除いては、実施例1と同じ方法でSi−60at%のSi−金属合金(Si−44.15972;Ti−25.08515;Ni−30.75512)を製造した。
Si:Ti:Niを68:16:16の原子量比で混合したことを除いては、実施例1と同じ方法でSi−68at%のSi−金属合金(Si−52.83756;Ti−21.18681;Ni−25.97564)を製造した。前記Si−金属合金粉末のFE−SEMイメージを図3に、及び粒度分布図を図4に示した(D50: 4.692μm)。
Si:Ti:Niを67:16.5:16.5の原子量比で混合したことを除いては、実施例1と同じ方法でSi−67at%のSi−金属合金(Si−51.70029;Ti−21.6977;Ni−26.60201)を製造した。
実施例1乃至3
製造例1乃至3で製造されたSi−金属合金をボールミルを利用して粉砕し、負極活物質粉末を得た。
比較製造例1及び2で製造されたSi−金属合金を使用したことを除いては、実施例1と同じ方法で二次電池を製造した。
実験例1
製造例1乃至3及び比較製造例1及び2で製造されたSi−金属合金の粉末内に含まれた結晶質Siの結晶粒の大きさを確認するためにXRD分析を行い、図5乃至図9に示した。
実験例2
実施例1乃至3、比較例1及び2で製造された電池を1.0Cの速度で50回充放電過程経てその特性を評価し、その結果を図12及び13に示した。
Claims (20)
- Siが66at%以下の含量で存在し、
前記Siの少なくとも一部が結晶質SiであるSi−金属合金を含む二次電池用負極活物質。 - 前記結晶質Siが30nm以下の結晶粒の大きさを有する請求項1に記載の二次電池用負極活物質。
- 前記Siが前記Si−金属合金内に60at%〜66at%の含量で存在する請求項1に記載の二次電池用負極活物質。
- 前記Siが前記Si−金属合金内に62at%〜65at%の含量で存在する請求項3に記載の二次電池用負極活物質。
- 前記Si−金属合金がCa,Sc,Ti,V,Cr,Mn,Fe,Co,Ni,Cu,Zn,Sr,Y,Zr,Nb,Ba,Lu,Hf,Ta及びランタン族元素で形成される群から選択された1種以上の金属を更に含む請求項1に記載の二次電池用負極活物質。
- 前記Si−金属合金が3〜10μmの平均粒径D50を有するSi−金属合金粒子を含む請求項1に記載の二次電池用負極活物質。
- 前記Si−金属合金が第1金属及び前記第1金属とは異なる第2金属を更に含む請求項1に記載の二次電池用負極活物質。
- 前記Si−金属合金がSiTiNi,SiFeAl,SiMnAl,SiFeTi,SiFeMn又はSiAlNiを含む請求項7に記載の二次電池用負極活物質。
- 前記第1金属及び前記第2金属がそれぞれ独立的に10〜20at%の含量で存在する請求項7に記載の二次電池用負極活物質。
- 前記結晶質Siは球状粒子である請求項1に記載の二次電池用負極活物質。
- ケースと、
前記ケースに収納され、負極、正極、前記負極及び正極の間の分離膜を含む電極組立体と、
非水電解質を含む電極組立体と、を含み、
前記負極がSiを含むSi−金属合金を含む負極活物質を含み、
前記Siは68at%以下で前記Si−金属合金内に存在し、前記Siの少なくとも一部が結晶質Siである二次電池。 - 前記結晶質Siが30nm以下の結晶粒の大きさを有する請求項11に記載の二次電池。
- 前記Siが前記Si−金属合金内に60at%〜66at%の含量で存在する請求項11に記載の二次電池。
- 前記Si−金属合金がCa,Sc,Ti,V,Cr,Mn,Fe,Co,Ni,Cu,Zn,Sr,Y,Zr,Nb,Ba,Lu,Hf,Ta及びランタン族元素で形成される群から選択された1種以上の金属を更に含む請求項11に記載の二次電池。
- 前記Si−金属合金が3〜10μmの平均粒径D50を有するSi−金属合金粒子を含む請求項11に記載の二次電池。
- 前記Si−金属合金が第1金属及び前記第1金属とは異なる第2金属を更に含む請求項11に記載の二次電池。
- 前記Si−金属合金がSiTiNi,SiFeAl,SiMnAl,SiFeTi,SiFeMn又はSiAlNiを含む請求項16に記載の二次電池。
- 前記第1金属及び前記第2金属がそれぞれ独立的に10〜20at%の含量で存在する請求項16に記載の二次電池。
- 正極を製造する段階と、
負極を製造する段階と、
前記正極及び負極を非水電解質と共に電池ケースに収納する段階と、を含み、
前記負極を製造する段階がSiを含むSi−金属合金を製造する段階を含み、
前記SiはSi−金属合金内に68at%以下で存在し、前記Siの少なくとも一部が結晶質Siである二次電池の製造方法。 - 前記負極の製造段階が機械的合金方法によって前記Si−金属合金内に結晶質Siを形成するよう、Si及びCa,Sc,Ti,V,Cr,Mn,Fe,Co,Ni,Cu,Zn,Sr,Y,Zr,Nb,Ba,Lu,Hf,Ta及びランタン族元素で形成される群から選択された1種以上の金属を含むSi−金属合金を製造する段階を含み、前記結晶質Siは30nm以下のSi結晶粒の大きさを有する請求項19に記載の二次電池の製造方法。
