Abstract
Description
本発明は、カーボンナノ構造体を製造するために使用される触媒金属粒子複合材料およびその効率的な製造方法に関する。 The present invention relates to a catalytic metal particle composite material used for producing a carbon nanostructure and an efficient production method thereof.
カーボンナノチューブに代表されるカーボンナノ構造体はその特性から、広い用途の応用が考えられている有望な材料である。しかしながらその製造の困難さから高純度かつ高効率で生産する方法の開発が望まれている。 Carbon nanostructures typified by carbon nanotubes are promising materials that are considered to be used in a wide range of applications due to their characteristics. However, the development of a method for producing with high purity and high efficiency is desired because of the difficulty of the production.
カーボンナノチューブを生成させる方法としては、ナノメートルレベルの直径を有する触媒粒子を用いて、アルコール系、炭化水素系等の原料ガスを加熱炉内で熱分解し、触媒粒子上にカーボン結晶を成長させてカーボンナノチューブとする熱分解法が考案されている。熱分解法には、塗布等によって基材上に触媒を担持させる方法や、気相中に触媒を浮遊させる方法等がある。 As a method of generating carbon nanotubes, using catalyst particles having a diameter of nanometer level, a raw material gas such as alcohol or hydrocarbon is pyrolyzed in a heating furnace to grow carbon crystals on the catalyst particles. A thermal decomposition method for carbon nanotubes has been devised. Examples of the pyrolysis method include a method of supporting a catalyst on a substrate by coating or the like, a method of floating a catalyst in a gas phase, and the like.
たとえば特許文献1には、有機遷移金属化合物のガスとキャリアガスと有機化合物のガスとの混合ガスを800〜1300℃に加熱することにより浮遊状態で気相成長炭素繊維を生成する方法が提案されている。
For example,
Patent Document 2 discloses a step of forming a catalytic metal film on a substrate, a step of etching the catalytic metal film to form nano-sized catalytic metal particles, and a carbon source into a thermal chemical vapor deposition apparatus. The method includes a step of supplying a gas and growing a carbon nanotube for each nano-sized catalytic metal particle separated by thermal chemical vapor deposition to form a plurality of carbon nanotubes aligned vertically on a substrate. The step of forming the nano-sized catalytic metal particles is performed by a gas etching method in which any one etching gas selected from the group consisting of ammonia gas, hydrogen gas and hydride gas is thermally decomposed and used. The synthesis method of is proposed.
特許文献3には、耐熱性の多孔質担体に触媒微粒子を分散担持させた基板上に炭化水素ガスをキャリアガスとともに送り、該炭化水素ガスの熱分解を利用して、単層カーボンナノチューブを気相合成する方法が提案されている。 In Patent Document 3, hydrocarbon gas is sent together with a carrier gas onto a substrate in which catalyst fine particles are dispersedly supported on a heat-resistant porous carrier, and single-walled carbon nanotubes are gasified by utilizing thermal decomposition of the hydrocarbon gas. A method of phase synthesis has been proposed.
However, the conventional methods as described in
よって上記の課題を解決するための、原料ガスが供給される空間と、カーボンナノ構造体が生成する空間を分離し製造する方法に関するものであり、本発明はこれに用いる触媒金属粒子複合材料とその製造方法である。これにより、均一な形状のカーボンナノ構造体を安定に製造する方法および、その製造に使用される触媒金属粒子複合材料、さらにはその触媒金属粒子複合材料の製造方法を提供する。 Therefore, in order to solve the above problems, the present invention relates to a method for separating and manufacturing a space in which a source gas is supplied and a space in which a carbon nanostructure is generated, and the present invention relates to a catalyst metal particle composite material used therefor It is the manufacturing method. Is exposed on the other surface of the film.

Can be manufactured by.
より具体的には、本発明における触媒金属粒子複合材料の製造方法は、膜状に成形された混合体を磁場中で固化し、金属粒子は1つの方向を長手方向とするアスペクト比5以上でかつ、長手方向の長さは前記膜の膜厚より長い鉄、ニッケルおよびコバルトのうちから選ばれる1つ以上の金属粒子であることが好ましい。 More specifically, in the method for producing a catalytic metal particle composite material in the present invention, the mixture formed into a film is solidified in a magnetic field, and the metal particles have an aspect ratio of 5 or more with one direction as a longitudinal direction. And it is preferable that it is 1 or more metal particles chosen from iron, nickel, and cobalt whose length of a longitudinal direction is longer than the film thickness of the said film | membrane.
本発明におけるカーボンナノ構造体の製造方法は、前記に記載の触媒金属粒子複合材料を用い、触媒金属粒子複合材料の一表面に原料ガスを供給する工程、他表面にキャリアガスを供給する工程を含み、キャリアガスが供給された表面からカーボンナノ構造体を成長させるカーボンナノ構造体の製造方法である。 The method for producing a carbon nanostructure in the present invention includes the step of supplying a raw material gas to one surface of the catalytic metal particle composite material and the step of supplying a carrier gas to the other surface using the catalyst metal particle composite material described above. 本発明の触媒金属粒子複合材料を用いることにより、均一なカーボンナノ構造体を安定して製造することが可能になる。またそのカーボンナノ構造体の製造に使用される、高性能の触媒金属粒子複合材料およびその効率的な製造方法を提供することができる。 By using the catalytic metal particle composite material of the present invention, a uniform carbon nanostructure can be stably produced. Further, it is possible to provide a high-performance catalytic metal particle composite material used for the production of the carbon nanostructure and an efficient production method thereof.
(Embodiment)
First, the formation principle of the carbon nanostructure found by the present inventors will be described. FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view schematically showing the formation principle. The principle will be described below with reference to FIG. A catalyst substrate 15 made of a catalyst material 11 (metal particles) and a base material 12 (noble metal film) is disposed so as to separate the space together with the
前述したように従来の製造方法では、カーボンナノ構造体を析出する空間と原料ガスが供給される空間が同一空間であったため、析出部のあらゆる方向に炭素イオンが付着し、直接的に反応するためカーボンナノ構造体のサイズや形状をコントロールすることは難しいものであった。 As described above, in the conventional manufacturing method, the space in which the carbon nanostructure is deposited and the space to which the source gas is supplied are the same space, so that carbon ions adhere to all directions of the deposited portion and react directly. Therefore, it is difficult to control the size and shape of the carbon nanostructure.
しかし本形成過程では、カーボンナノ構造体を析出する空間と原料ガスが供給される空間とが異なる。よって生成しているカーボンナノ構造体への成長に必要な新たな炭素イオンの供給方向は、触媒材料に接する部分(表面)からの一方向であるため、均一な形状のカーボンナノ構造体が効率良く生成する。 However, in this formation process, the space in which the carbon nanostructure is deposited is different from the space in which the source gas is supplied. Therefore, the supply direction of the new carbon ions necessary for the growth of the generated carbon nanostructure is unidirectional from the part (surface) in contact with the catalyst material, so the carbon nanostructure with a uniform shape is efficient. Generate well.
この際、析出する側に露出した触媒材料11の大きさに応じたカーボンナノ構造体が形成される。カーボンナノチューブのような、その径がナノオーダーの構造体を形成するためには、触媒材料の露出サイズも数百nm以下であれば実質的に充分であると考えられる。
At this time, a carbon nanostructure corresponding to the size of the
本発明の触媒金属粒子複合材料は、貴金属を主成分とする膜中に、金属粒子が分散しており、前記各金属粒子の一部分は膜の一方表面に露出しており、当該金属粒子の他の一部分は前記膜の他方表面に露出しているものである。 In the catalytic metal particle composite material of the present invention, metal particles are dispersed in a film containing a precious metal as a main component, and a part of each metal particle is exposed on one surface of the film. Is exposed on the other surface of the film.
ここで貴金属とは、銀、金、白金、ロジウム、パラジウム等である。カーボンナノ構造体の製造工程では、上記したように高温状態に曝されることもあり、上記貴金属は膜中の触媒材料として機能する金属粒子と高温状態で合金または化合物を形成する可能性が低い金属として選ばれた。これらは金属粒子が分散する基体となる。 Here, the noble metal is silver, gold, platinum, rhodium, palladium or the like. In the manufacturing process of the carbon nanostructure, as described above, the noble metal may be exposed to a high temperature state, and the noble metal is less likely to form an alloy or a compound in a high temperature state with metal particles functioning as a catalyst material in the film. Selected as a metal. These serve as a base on which metal particles are dispersed.
ここで貴金属を主成分とする膜について説明する。スパッタリング等の蒸着法を用いれば、膜を貴金属だけで形成することも可能である。一方、本発明に開示する貴金属粒子を含むペースト剤を用いて、膜を形成する場合は、ペースト剤中に結合剤や分散剤が含まれているため、ペースト乾燥後もこれらが幾分残存することもある。よってこのような状態を称して貴金属を主成分とする膜とする。 Here, a film containing a precious metal as a main component will be described. If a vapor deposition method such as sputtering is used, the film can be formed of only a noble metal. On the other hand, when a film is formed using the paste containing noble metal particles disclosed in the present invention, since the binder contains a binder and a dispersant, some of these remain even after the paste is dried. Sometimes. Therefore, such a state is referred to as a film containing a noble metal as a main component.
炭素イオンが透過するための金属粒子は、一端では炭素イオンの入り口となり、もう一端では炭素イオンの出口となるので、膜の両面に露出していることが必要である。 The metal particles through which carbon ions permeate must be exposed on both sides of the membrane because they are the carbon ion inlet at one end and the carbon ion outlet at the other end.
また本発明においては、金属粒子が膜の少なくとも一方の表面から突出していることが好ましい。図2は金属粒子22が膜21の一表面から突出した状態を示す断面図である。このように膜の表面から触媒である金属粒子が突出していると、特にその先端を基点として、カーボンナノ構造体が成長しやすい。
In the present invention, it is preferable that the metal particles protrude from at least one surface of the film. FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view showing a state in which the
本発明においては、金属粒子は、粒子の1つの方向を長手方向とするアスペクト比5以上の粒子であり、前記長手方向の長さは前記膜の膜厚より長く、前記長手方向が前記膜の厚さ方向に並んでいることが好ましい。 In the present invention, the metal particles are particles having an aspect ratio of 5 or more in which one direction of the particles is the longitudinal direction, the length in the longitudinal direction is longer than the film thickness of the film, and the longitudinal direction is the film thickness. It is preferable to line up in the thickness direction.
金属粒子が膜の両面から露出するためには、膜厚以上の長さを持つ長手方向が必要である。実製造上、膜の強度的な面を考慮すると、膜厚は5μm以上であれば製造装置への設置等は容易に行える。よって金属粒子も1つの方向において5μm以上が必要とされる。 In order for the metal particles to be exposed from both sides of the film, a longitudinal direction having a length longer than the film thickness is required. Considering the strength of the film in actual manufacturing, if the film thickness is 5 μm or more, it can be easily installed in the manufacturing apparatus. Therefore, the metal particles are required to be 5 μm or more in one direction.
On the other hand, the size of the exposed portion is preferably about several hundred nm or less due to the growth principle of the carbon nanostructure. The exposed surface cross-sectional shape of the metal particles is not limited to a shape with a good target such as a circle or a square, but may have an irregular shape such as a substantially circular shape, a substantially elliptical shape, or a substantially rectangular shape. In the case of such a shape, the exposed cross-sectional shape has a short diameter (short side) and a long diameter (long side). The size of the carbon nanostructure to be generated grows constrained by the short diameter (short side) among the above. Therefore, it is sufficient if the minor axis (short side) is about several hundred nm or less, substantially 1 μm or less.
以上のことから、金属粒子の形状は長手方向が存在し、その長さが膜厚、実質的には5μm以上であり、露出断面における短径(短辺)が1μm以下であることが好ましく。この長手方向の長さと短径(短辺)長さの比をアスペクト比と定義して、その比が5以上であることが好ましいといえる。 From the above, the shape of the metal particles preferably has a longitudinal direction, the length is a film thickness, substantially 5 μm or more, and the minor axis (short side) in the exposed cross section is preferably 1 μm or less. The ratio between the length in the longitudinal direction and the length of the minor axis (short side) is defined as the aspect ratio, and it can be said that the ratio is preferably 5 or more.
本発明において、金属粒子は、鉄、ニッケルおよびコバルトのうちから選ばれる1つ以上の金属からなることが好ましい。上記金属は炭素をその結晶格子中に取り込みやすく、本発明のような炭素を透過させる形成プロセスにおいては、触媒材料として好適な金属である。 In the present invention, the metal particles are preferably made of one or more metals selected from iron, nickel and cobalt. The metal is easy to incorporate carbon into its crystal lattice, and is a suitable metal as a catalyst material in a formation process that allows carbon to permeate as in the present invention.
本発明における貴金属粒子を含むペースト剤と金属粒子を混合する工程と、その混合体を膜状に成形する工程と、膜状に成形された混合体を固化する工程によって製造されることが好ましい。 It is preferable to produce the paste agent containing noble metal particles and metal particles in the present invention, a step of forming the mixture into a film shape, and a step of solidifying the mixture formed into a film shape.
まず貴金属を含むペースト剤について説明する。これはエレクトロニクス分野で使用される導電性ペースト剤と同じような成分を含有するものである。成分として銀等の導電性を担う金属粒子と、粒子を結合させるバインダー、粒子を均一に分散させるための分散剤、その他溶剤や硬化剤が含まれる液状体である。 First, a paste containing a noble metal will be described. This contains the same components as the conductive paste used in the electronics field. It is a liquid containing metal particles having conductivity such as silver, a binder for bonding the particles, a dispersant for uniformly dispersing the particles, and other solvents and curing agents as components.
このようなペースト剤を使用する理由を説明する。膜形状を形成するには、高温で溶解された溶融体を薄く広げる方法や、蒸着によって形成する方法もある。しかし、このような製造方法では、製造条件によっては金属粒子と貴金属金属粒子が化合物を形成することもあり、化合物を形成すると炭素イオンの透過能力が低下する場合がある。 The reason for using such a paste will be described. In order to form a film shape, there are a method in which a melt melted at a high temperature is thinly spread and a method in which the melt is formed by vapor deposition. However, in such a production method, depending on the production conditions, the metal particles and the noble metal metal particles may form a compound, and the formation of the compound may reduce the carbon ion permeability.
よって本発明のように、貴金属粒子を含むペースト剤と金属粒子を混合し、ペースト状にし、それを塗布することで膜形状を成形する方法をとれば、金属粒子の炭素イオン透過能力を低下させずに膜形状を形成でき好ましい。用途に応じて膜形状にした後、貴金属粒子と金属粒子が合金を形成しないような温度で熱処理することや、高圧でプレスする等の後処理を施すことも可能である。 Therefore, as in the present invention, if a method of forming a film shape by mixing a paste agent containing noble metal particles and metal particles, forming a paste, and applying it, the carbon ion permeability of the metal particles is reduced. It is preferable that a film shape can be formed. After forming into a film shape according to the application, it is possible to perform a post-treatment such as heat treatment at a temperature at which the noble metal particles and the metal particles do not form an alloy, or pressing at a high pressure.
本発明における触媒金属粒子複合材料の製造方法は、膜状に成形された混合体を磁場中で固化し、金属粒子は1つの方向を長手方向とするアスペクト比5以上でかつ、長手方向の長さは前記膜の膜厚より長い鉄、ニッケルおよびコバルトのうちから選ばれる1つ以上の金属粒子であることが好ましい。 In the method for producing a catalytic metal particle composite material according to the present invention, a mixture formed into a film is solidified in a magnetic field, and the metal particles have an aspect ratio of 5 or more with one direction as the longitudinal direction and a length in the longitudinal direction. The length is preferably one or more metal particles selected from iron, nickel and cobalt longer than the film thickness of the film.
液状成分が残存しているペースト状態では、いずれの粒子も流動性を有しているが、鉄、ニッケル、コバルトは磁性を有しており、流動性のある間に磁場を印加すると特定の方向を磁場の向きに整列させることが可能である。これによって鉄、ニッケル、コバルト等の磁性を持つ粒子の長手方向を膜の厚さ方向に容易に並べることできるからである。 In the paste state in which the liquid component remains, all particles have fluidity, but iron, nickel, and cobalt have magnetism. Can be aligned in the direction of the magnetic field. This is because the longitudinal direction of magnetic particles such as iron, nickel and cobalt can be easily arranged in the thickness direction of the film.
図3は本発明の触媒金属粒子複合材料の製造工程を示すフロー図である。図3を参照して本発明の具体的な工程を説明する。 FIG. 3 is a flowchart showing the production process of the catalytic metal particle composite material of the present invention. Specific steps of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG.
まず、銀等の貴金属粒子を含むペースト剤と鉄、ニッケル、コバルト等の金属粒子を所望の比率になるよう混合しペースト状態を作製する(ステップS1)。 First, a paste state containing noble metal particles such as silver and metal particles such as iron, nickel, cobalt, etc. are mixed in a desired ratio to produce a paste state (step S1).
このペーストをガラス板等の基材に塗布し、膜形状にする(ステップS2)。この塗布直後の膜の断面状態を模式的に表したものが図4である。ガラス板等の基材41の上に、液状成分42と貴金属粒子43と金属粒子44が共存している様子を表す。この段階においては、金属粒子はランダムな方向を向いている。
This paste is applied to a substrate such as a glass plate to form a film (step S2). FIG. 4 schematically shows the cross-sectional state of the film immediately after coating. The state where the
Next, it is dried with a magnetic field applied in the film thickness direction of the coating material (step S3). FIG. 5 schematically shows the state of drying while applying the magnetic field from the cross section of the film. First, when a magnetic field is applied, the
以下、実施例を挙げて本発明をより詳細に説明するが、本発明はこれらに限定されるものではない。 EXAMPLES Hereinafter, although an Example is given and this invention is demonstrated in detail, this invention is not limited to these.
(実施例1)
本発明にかかる触媒金属粒子複合材料の実施形態を記す。まず市販の銀ペースト剤(ドータイトFA−705EN:藤倉化成株式会社製)100gに対して、一次粒子径30〜100nmをもつ球状鉄粒子が1000〜10000個鎖状につながった、長さ50〜100μmの鎖状鉄粒子1gを、均一に分散するよう混合し、塗布用ペーストを作製する。
Example 1
Embodiments of the catalytic metal particle composite material according to the present invention will be described. First, with respect to 100 g of commercially available silver paste (Dotite FA-705EN: manufactured by Fujikura Kasei Co., Ltd.), spherical iron particles having a primary particle size of 30 to 100 nm are connected in a chain of 1000 to 10000, and the length is 50 to 100 μm. 1 g of the chain iron particles are mixed so as to be uniformly dispersed to prepare a coating paste.
混合した塗布用ペーストをガラス板上に5cm角に、液体込み厚さ約100μmとなるよう塗布する。これを前駆体シートとする。この段階では鎖状鉄粒子はランダムな方向を向いている。 The mixed application paste is applied on a glass plate in a 5 cm square so that the thickness including liquid is about 100 μm. This is a precursor sheet. At this stage, the chain iron particles are oriented in a random direction.
次にこの前駆体シートをマグネット中に挿入し、磁場がシートの厚さ方向にかかるように配置する。そして1Tの磁場を印加しながら乾燥させ液状成分を除去する。この際に熱をかけながら乾燥させてもよい。 Next, the precursor sheet is inserted into a magnet and arranged so that a magnetic field is applied in the thickness direction of the sheet. And it is made to dry, applying a 1T magnetic field, and a liquid component is removed. At this time, drying may be performed while applying heat.
液状成分が除去されたシートは平均厚み50μmとなる。このシートを観察すると銀の粒子からなる膜中に、鉄粒子が長手方向を膜厚方向にほぼ配向させた状態が見える。 The sheet from which the liquid component has been removed has an average thickness of 50 μm. When this sheet is observed, it can be seen that the iron particles are substantially oriented in the film thickness direction in the film made of silver particles.
たとえば、本発明で製造される触媒複合材料を高真空化での使用する場合や、強度の高い触媒複合材料が必要な場合は、銀粒子間の結合を高めるために、液状成分除去後高温の熱処理を施すことがより好ましい。得られたシートをガラス板上から剥離して、カーボンナノ構造製造用の触媒複合材料として用いる。 For example, when the catalyst composite material produced in the present invention is used in a high vacuum or when a high-strength catalyst composite material is required, a high temperature after removal of the liquid component is required in order to increase the bond between silver particles. More preferably, heat treatment is performed. The obtained sheet is peeled from the glass plate and used as a catalyst composite material for producing carbon nanostructures.

In the production of carbon nanotubes in this example, the temperature in the electric furnace is set to 850 ° C., which is the temperature at which the carbon nanotubes are generated, and argon gas is introduced into the space on the source gas supply side among the spaces separated by the sealing
その結果、カーボンナノチューブ成長側の触媒複合材料表面からの繊維状カーボンの生成が目視で認められた。得られた繊維状カーボンを透過型電子顕微鏡で観察したところカーボンナノチューブの生成が認められた。 As a result, the formation of fibrous carbon from the surface of the catalyst composite material on the carbon nanotube growth side was visually observed. When the obtained fibrous carbon was observed with a transmission electron microscope, the production | generation of the carbon nanotube was recognized.
