Abstract

939,050. Bearings. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSB.-NURNBERG A.G. Nov. 21, 1961 [Nov. 25, 1960], No. 41642/61. Class 12 (1). In a resilient frictionally-controlled antivibration bearing for a high-speed shaft revolvable about a vertical axis, a bearing bush 1 is supported by a bearing flange 2 on an end face 4 of a body 5 mounting the bearing, and a friction force in a plane generally normal to the bush axis is generated by a magnetic effect. Below the flange 2 and around the bush 6 is a ring 3. Permanent magnets 7 are let into the bearing flange 2 and/or at 8 into the body 5, the body 5 or flange 2, when the magnets 7 are in the flange or body, respectively, being of a ferro-magnetic material. The magnets may be removably or adjustably located and of ceramic material.
