Abstract

935,259. Rolling. SCHLOEMANN A.G. Feb. 20, 1961 [Feb. 25, 1960], No. 6108/61. Class 83(4). A roller guide for a rolling mill has a plurality of pairs of rollers arranged one behind another, the rollers of at least one pair being adjustable independently of one another. As shown, a roller guide which is especially suitable for loop guides comprises two roller holders 10 and 11 mounted in slots 8 and 9 in a cover 6 and a frame 5, the holders having mounted thereon pairs of rollers 13 and 15 and adjustable guiding jaws 20 and 21. The rollers 13 are fixed to the holders while the rollers 15 have spindles 16 mounted in eccentric bushes 17 attached to the holders, rotation of the spindles causing displacement of the rollers. Spring-controlled thrust bolts 23 allow the rollers to follow changes in cross-section of the bar being rolled. An entry funnel 7 is attached to the frame 5, and the rollers are cooled using a pipe 18.
