Abstract

1404890 Roller-straightener CONSTRUCCIONES VASCAS SA 6 Dec 1973 [6 Dec 1972] 56663/73 Heading B3M A straightener-polisher machine for round bars has upper and lower skewed rolls 23 and 24, Fig. 7, which straighten and polish a bar 4 entrained between guides 18, the guides being linked to the upper roll such that they are automatically accommodate themselves to the diameter of a fresh bar being rolled as the roll is adjusted vertically. Each guide 18 is supported on a table 5, Fig. 8, pivoted at 16 and. coupled to a pivoted lever 10. When the support for the roll 23 is shifted vertically to move the roll to position 23<SP>1</SP> (to straighten a larger diameter bar 4<SP>1</SP>) the lever is pivoted to position 10<SP>1</SP> by a vertical linkage (Figs. 3, 4, not shown), and the guide is correspondingly pivoted to position 18<SP>1</SP>. A guide roller which contacts the bar is mounted at one end of each table.
