Abstract

925,316. Heating by circulation of hot water. M. CLAUSEN, [trading as DANFOSS VED INGENIOR M. CLAUSEN]. May 6, 1960 [May 8, 1959], No. 16141/60. Class 64 (2). In a system in which hot water is supplied from a central heating boiler or plant through a pipe 1 to a heating installation including a radiator 3 and a mixing valve 5 and in which a valve 7 is opened automatically, when the water temperature drops, so that the water returns to the source through a water meter 8, there is an extra valve 9 also opened automatically upon a water temperature drop. The extra valve has an area of flow opening different from that of the valve 7 and closes at a different temperature. When, as in autumn or spring, the installation has a low consumption, the valves are adjusted so that the opening temperature of the valve with the smaller maximum opening is greater than the opening temperature of the other valve. In the winter, conversely the adjustment is such that the larger valve opens at a higher temperature than that which causes the smaller valve to open.
