Class 64(2) [Also in Group XXIX] In a heating system in which flows hot water from a district supply plant, a device for maintaining the pressure in the supply line 11 at a predetermined value above the pressure in the return line 13, includes a cylinder 1 containing a piston 8 connected by a spindle 7 to a valve member 9 controlling flow through the supply line and loaded by acompression spring 6 on an adjustable threaded spindle 5. The lower face of the piston is subjected to the pressure in the supply line and its upper face to the pressure in the return line 13 via a pipe 14. There may be a pipe connecting the space below the piston 8 to the downstream side of the valve 9. Alternatively the valve member 9 may be reversed in the housing, the housing inserted in the line 13, and the pipe 14 connected to the supply line 11.
