[Class 64 (ii)] [See also Group XXIX] A regulating valve for hot - water heating installations has a valve casing 1 with two inlets 14,13 and two outlets 11, 12, the outlet 12 being in communication with the two inlets through openings 16, 17 controlled by a valve 15. The inlet 14 and the outlet 11 are in free communication. The inlets 14, 13 are connected respectively to the hot water pipe 10 from the boiler 2 and to a byepass pipe 7 branching from the return pipe 8 from the radiator or radiators 4. The outlets 11, 12 lead to a hot water tank 3 and to the riser pipe 6 to the radiators respectively. The spindle of the valve 15 is screwthreaded so that it can be adjusted to close the opening 16 and so shut off the radiators entirely or move to an intermediate position to control the mixture of hot water from the boiler and cooled return water passing to the radiators. When the opening 16 is closed, the pressure in the tank 3 is relieved by a ball valve 22 in a byepass passage 20, 21. The inlet 13 is formed on a separate part of the casing which can be mounted in four different angular positions on the main casing by screws or the like.
