847,356. Delivery arrangements for hotwater boilers; hot-water supply systems. MAIN WATER HEATERS Ltd. Nov. 6. 1956 [Nov. ,11, 1955]; No. 13776/58. Divided out of 847,355. Class 64(1) Water passes into an instantaneous water-heater 23 through a throttle valve 21 and passes out through a valve 25, the spindle of which bears a snail cam 37, Fig. 2, for the simultaneous operation of a valve 29 in the gas supply to a burner 34, which supply is controlled also by a valve 32 regulated by a thermal element 33 with a heat-responsive part in the water near the outlet from the heated portion of the heater. The cam 37 is such that the gas valve 29 is fully opened before the water valve 25 is fully opened, i.e. before a stop 38 contacts a stem 39 of the gas valve. The outlet of the valve 25 may be connected to a shower supply which also receives cold water through a valve 28 and this cold water supply may be from the cistern of a hot-water supply system which the supply to the instantaneous heater 23 may be from the storage tank of that hot water system, the whole forming a system as claimed in the original Specification. The Provisional Specification describes also a heater in which a gas valve and a water valve are interlinked to become fully open simultaneously.
