Abstract

914,224. Cooling cylinders. LINDE'S EISMASCHINEN A.G., GES FUR. Oct. 18, 1961 [Oct. 18, 1960], No. 37401/61. Class 7(2) [Also in Group XXIX] In an air cooled engine with a hydraulic transmission 5, the cooling air fan 3 is utilized to cool the oil of the hydraulic transmission. In Fig. 1 the fan 3 is formed on the flywheel and sucks in air through a casing 10 on the crankcase, the inlet of which is formed by a radiator 8 through which the oil from the hydraulic transmission 5 is passed. The fan 3 forces the cooling air over the cylinders through a casing 4. In a modification, Fig. 2, part of the cooling air is diverted from the casing 4 to the oil radiator 13. Alternatively the oil radiator may be situated on the side of the fan casing to receive directly a portion of the air compressed by the fan.
