Abstract

831,706. Engine cooling and accessory mounting. CONTINENTAL MOTORS CORPORATION. June 10, 1958 [July 16, 1957], No. 18484/58. Classes,7(2), 7(3), 7(4) and 7(5) A crankcase 11, opposed six-cyclinder banks 12, radiators 13...15, cooling fans 16 and shrouds 17 together form a box-like structure housing a generator 38, fuel injection pumps 37 and a starter 36. The radiators 14, 15 respectively cool engine and transmission oil, and engine coolant is circulated by pumps 31 through interconnected cylinder and cylinder-head jackets 27, 26 and outer halves 29 of the radiators 13 to headers 33 supplying the pumps via inner radiator halves 30. The members 16, 36, 37 and 38 are driven from the engine crankshaft via a gear train in a casing 39. The fans 16 may suck or blow air through the radiators.
