900,607. Compressors. LINDE'S EISMASCHINEN A.G. GES. FUR. Dec. 9, 1960 [Dec. 11, 1959], No. 42470/60. Class 8(1). Stopping of the motor driving a reciprocating multistage oxygen compressor comprising chambers 1, 2, 3 each having non-return suction and delivery valves a, b is effected when the pressure in the line between the delivery valve of one stage and the suction valve of the succeeding stage and which is continuously measured by a manometer 10 reaches a predetermined valve e.g., due to a temperature rise caused by a back-flow of compressed oxygen past a faulty suction valve. The manometer 10 is positioned in a relay circuit 11 which includes an electrical contactor 12 which serves to switch off the driving motor and close a shut-off valve 7 in the delivery line 8. Coolers 4, 5 are disposed between the chambers 1, 2 and 3.
