Abstract

1533690 Controlling reciprocating compressors W B SHELBY 30 Jan 1976 03665/76 Heading F1N [ Also in Division F4] The motor 34 of a reciprocating compressor 33 is controlled by a pressure sensitive valve 36, upstream of the compressor. As pressure builds up upstream of the compressor, so the valve 36 makes a pair of electrical contacts to start the motor 34. When the available gas has been compressed the upstream pressure will drop and the valve 36 will stop the motor. A ceramic water vapour remover 39 and cooler 40 are located downstream of the compressor.
