Abstract

853,891. Cartons. TILLOTSONS (LIVERPOOL) Ltd. Feb. 20, 1959 [March 28, 1958], No. 9955/58. Class 18. A carton formed from the blank shown in Fig. 5 has four interhinged walls 31-34, four intermediate panels 35-38 and four base panels 39-42 two of which have diagonal fold lines 43, 44. Top closure flaps are provided at the opposite end of the blank to the panels 39-42. The panels 35-38 are stuck to the walls 31-34, panels 39-42 interlock as shown in Fig. 6 to form an inset base, and portions 45, 46 are stuck to portions 47, 48 respectively. The carton can be erected from flat to tubular form by pressing together the opposite edges of the collapsed carton to bring the side walls at right'angles to one another. In a modification shown in Fig. 1, an aperture is formed in the base by cut out portions in the base flaps 9-12 and a member 21 is provided at the top end of the carton; this member 21 may be separate from the blank.
