Abstract

637,721. Boxes. ROBINSON, Ltd., E. S. & A., DAVIES, K. W., and CHIDGEY, A. L. July 10, 1946, No. 20618. [Class 18] A collapsible container comprising a tube formed of a plurality of side walls and having end walls formed by turn-in flaps has packing members attached to two adjacent walls and scored so that they will lie flat when the container is collapsed, and which members will be erected automatically when the container is set up. The body 20 of the box shown in Fig. 4 may be made from two blanks joined at diagonally opposite corners, or from four blanks joined at each corner. The packing members, formed by members 11, 14, 17 and by members 4, 7, 9 may be extensions from the turn-in flaps 3, 10 or may be separate pieces secured to the turn-in flaps. The packing pieces are cut away to receive the article to be packed. In the construction shown in Fig. 13, the body is made from one blank 61 joined at one corner 63, and the packing pieces are formed by separate pieces 65 secured to two of the walls forming the body of the container.
