Abstract
786,575. Chairs. TURLAND, A. R. June 8, 1956 [March 11, 1955], No. 7167/55. Class 52(1) An easy chair is fitted with an upholstered foot-rest 8, hinged to the front of the seat frame 9, and stored beneath the seat 6 which is hinged at its rear 7, so that it can be lifted and the rest moved from its operative to its inoperative position. The hinge for the seat may be arranged as in Fig. 6, the seat being hinged on to a link 11, which is pivoted on a rod 12, allowing for a small forward movement of the link 11, so that the seat clears the back-rest 13. The foot-rest rests on a bar 14, in its inoperative position.
