Abstract
768,897. Reclining chairs. GENERAL STEEL PRODUCTS CO., Inc. April 7, 1955 [June 25, 1954], No.. 10192/55. Class 52 (2). A reclining chair 10 with a stationary framework 12 and a unitary seat-back structure 15 including a seat 14 and back 16 has a leg rest 20 connected to the unit 15 and brackets 24 on member 12 by a linkage consisting of members 44, 46, 48, 50, 62 and links 70, 72 of which the latter is pivotally connected to a lever arm 68 attached to member 50 pivoted to bracket 24, the unit 15 being also pivotally attached to bracket 24 by links 38 so that the leg rest lies in an inverted horizontal position beneath the chair until the reclining member 15 is tilted backwards causing the links to swing the leg rest up into position of use.
