797,178. Reclining chairs. ETABLISSEMENTS J. PANKERT SOC. ANON. Sept. 5, 1956 [Sept. 5, 1955], No. 27210/56. Class 52(2) A reclining chair with a seat 5, back 6, and leg-rest 7 movable in a fixed frame has fixed to each of the lateral faces of the seat 5 a bar 8 articulated to pivoting arms 9, 10 and a link 11 articulated near the rear of bar 8 is also pivoted to a bell-crank lever 13 connected by a link 18 to leg-rest 7 the latter being connected to bar 8 by links 20, 24 of which link 20 is pivoted at 19 to link 18. The back 6 of the chair is fixed to elbowed arms 28 each connected by a link 31 to the lever 13 and a spring 33 for returning the back of the chair to an upright position is arranged between lever 13 and the fixed frame, a stop 34 limiting the inclination of the back. As the back 6 is moved backwards into the reclining position the front of seat 5 is lifted and the leg-rest extended. Belgian Specification 536,061 is referred to.
